Below is a link to a survey for all members of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. It will help us to provide better services to the businesses and property owners. If you would prefer to complete a paper version of the survey, please contact Brian Barrie (202-536-9515), the BID Operations Manager, to pick one up or have it delivered to you. Thank you for your time. Please complete the survey by August 19, 2016.
Adams Morgan Day Planning is in Full Swing
Registration Deadline: August 15
The organizers are in the process of applying for all of the required licenses and permits. They've got the public space plans set, but need to know what each business will be doing so that they can make sure you're covered by the event license and (more importantly) start advertising!
They're asking for a minimum of $50 from participating businesses this year to help offset costs, but there are also different levels of sponsorship available if you're able to contribute more (and they definitely need more to pay for the required city services this year). Levels are outlined on the form and on the fundraising page. If you'd prefer to make your contribution by check vs. online, you can make a check out to Mary's Center (the fiscal sponsor again this year) with "Adams Morgan Day 2016" in the comment line. You can either drop that off with Dave Delaplaine at Roofers Union or send it to:

Basketball Tournament
Date: September 11
Time: 9am to 6pm
from the organizers:
We plan to have 10 teams competing at different age ranges: 11-14, 15-17, 18 & up. We will be inviting the Mayor to present the medals to the champions. This year I want to recruit 2 young women's teams 12-17 to compete for the medals as well. We will also have a Parents and Kiddee camp. Our players will manage this and show the kids the basic fundamentals of basketball.
AMBA will purchase all our Tshirts from an Adams Morgan Business "Corinto Gallery" at 2300 Champlain Street. Josue, the owner, is also making the Adams Mogam Day Tshirts.
We have developed the following plan:
Business Sponsor:
$200 to sponsor a team -- 1 shirt each for the 8 players on each team and 4 extra shirts for the business. Additional shirts can be ordered by the business (the printer will have the images). It might be possible to come as low as $185 if the business or organization is interested. Certainly this is a way of getting value added for their contribution to our kids: We all win!
I have used Fleet Feet as a "display sponsor". Sponsors can pick their own name.
Shirt front displays the team name (ie "Fleet Footers") and name of the business.
Shirt back will display AMBA Logo and player number.
Every team will have a different color shirt.
Players without an organization or business sponsor will wear regular AMBA shirts with no name on them. They will have a name on the program. All members of the AMBA 2016 Tournament Planning Committee will receive a complimentary "Volunteer" shirt with the AMBA Logo.
Note:
Please help recruit the owners of organization or business sponsors you may know. Kids shop in these places but don't have influence with the owners. Once the sponsors are selected we will arrange a meeting with the team and business owner or organization.
This will engage our businesses and they will get publicity not only on the court but throughout the area as kids will wear these shirts off the court and throughout the year.
Please no liquor stores because of the minors involved.
Remember out theme for the tournament this year: "Let's Just Be Friends"
