Adams Morgan Movie Nights returns May 21!
|
We are thrilled to announce the return of the award-winning, six-week movie series:
Adams Morgan Movie Nights
! Enjoy free movies every Tuesday evening starting May 21 through June 25 at the Marie Reed Elementary School Soccer Field at 18th Street NW and California Street NW. Movies will kick-off just after sunset at approximately 9pm. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to get a prime spot on the field which boasts tiered, amphitheater-style seating.
While we wait to watch the world’s greatest athletes compete at the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics, we’re getting in the spirit with a sports-themed movie lineup! From gold metal fan-favorites and comedies to more serious movies that capture athletes’ determination – you’re sure to love these feel-good flicks. Speaking of medals and awards, the Adams Morgan Partnership BID would like to thank the community for its support as this movie series continues to receive recognition like “Best Outdoor Movie Series” from Washington City Paper!

Be one of the first to exhibit in DC Art Center's newly renovated galleries! Wallmountables is one of DC’s largest open community art exhibitions and The DC Arts Center’s annual fundraiser! During WallMountables, anyone can purchase as many 2’ x 2’ squares on the new gallery walls as they’d like and display whatever artwork they want! While simply showing your work is exciting enough, there's always the chance that your work sells, too! Artists keep 100% of all proceeds when their work sells.

Pop-up Permits (PUPs)
As part of the efforts to help revitalize commercial corridors, DOB is excited to introduce
Pop-Up Permits
(PUPs), our new pilot program for customers to get a streamlined
Certificate of Occupancy
(C of O) for temporary use of a previously vacant building for up to one (1) year - all without going through the traditional permitting process to maximize the time the space can operate.
Pop-up permits combine the mechanics of the building permit and C of O processes to generate a C of O to ensure safe compliance for temporary uses of vacant buildings.
To qualify for the pop-up permit program, applicants should first complete
DOB's Pre-Qualification Form
to ensure that their idea is feasible for a temporary use.

Help DC Area Music Census
The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities along with its Lead Government and Community. Partners will launch the
DC Area Music Census
on April 10 2024.
The Census is a community-led initiative to gain a better understanding of the current needs of the Greater Washington DC-area music community.
The Census will capture key information about the DC area music economy to assist the District and area community make more informed, data-driven decisions to support the music ecosystem. The Census asks questions specific to the realities of music and live entertainment workers, including general information about their demographics and occupation types as well as their perspective on issues such as diversity, equity, and belonging.
DC BIZ CAP Program
The District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking, a regulatory agency for D.C.’s financial services industries, provides programs to assist small and local business owners with access to capital.

DC BizCAP - Collateral Support Program
The Collateral Support Program (CSP) provides funds for deposit with a participating lender (i.e. a participating bank, credit union or community development financial institution) to provide the necessary collateral to cover the borrower’s collateral shortfall.

DC BizCAP - Loan Participation Program
The Loan Participation Program (LPP) is a program that provides loan support for small business which may qualify for loans, but are unable to meet capital requirements or the debt service coverage ratio of the lending institution.

DC BizCAP - Innovation Finance Program
The Innovation Finance Program (IFP) provides capital for investment in District of Columbia start-ups and emerging companies that seek financing alternatives to traditional commercial financing. For more information about these financial services, visit:

2024 Climate and Energy Leadership Awards Program is now open!!

Reminder that government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions across the metropolitan Washington are now officially invited to apply or nominate candidates for the 2024 Climate and Energy Leadership Awards offered by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG).
Winners serve as a role model for the region, and are recognized in front of local, regional, and national officials for their innovative climate stewardship projects and programs that engage and serve the region’s underserved communities.
Climate efforts are recognized in three categories: government agencies, NGOs, and educational institutions. This year four awards will be given out for the following categories:

(2) GOVERNMENT AGENCY (local, state, regional, quasi-govt, utilities or authorities): Small Jurisdiction (population < 90k) and Large Jurisdiction (population > 90k)

(1) NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION (non-profit, citizen or community-based groups)
