1) Adams Morgan Summer Concert Series - continues tomorrow May 16th - wristband discount program along with hula hoops!

We are really excited to be hosting another Summer Concert Series on
Saturdays in May and June. This will be our 7th year rocking out the plaza in
front of BB&T Bank!
The dates will be May 2nd, 9th, 16th , 30th, June 6th and 13th from 5 to 7 pm.

Also on May 16th
, there will be a large neighborhood-wide yard sale –
the “Mother of All Yard Sales” according to the organizers. They have agreed
to give the wrist bands to everyone who stops at one of the yard sales too.
This
should double the number the people who get wristbands that day.

2) Adams Morgan Movie Nights begin on May 19th
Adams Morgan Movie Nights is back! One of our most popular events of last year just got bigger and better. The series kicks off on May 19th, and continues through June 16th, with five films (up from three last year) screening on Tuesday nights approximately 30 minutes after sundown.
City Bikes
is organizing a ride to the movie on May 26th and
BicycleSPACE
is organizing a ride to the movie on June 2nd. Contact each shop above to join the ride. Many thanks to both shops for hosting the bike valet also.
The Marie Reed School PTA will be hosting the concessions stand with popcorn, candy, refreshments, etc...
Attendees are encouraged to come early, throw down a blanket and enjoy the beautiful Marie Reed School and Rec Center soccer field at 18th and California Street, NW.
We will hand out swag bags with treats and offers from local businesses so please contact Joanna Robinson at Lunar Massage if you would like to participate. WE NEED THE SWAG ITEMS BY MONDAY MAY 18TH AT THE LATEST.
The bags were very popular last year, so it is worth the effort. We will pass out 150 bags at each movie. First come, first serve. Joanna can be reached at:

4) Mint Condition Day - June 6th

The 2nd Annual MINT Condition Day will be Saturday, June 6th from 9 am to 2 pm on the Marie Reed Soccer Field.
There will be a Moonbounce and kids activities, fresh juices from Puree, free-sample farmer's market, raffles, games and more!

5) Cashion's Eat Place at 1819 Columbia Road, NW closed for renovations Sunday night May 17th through Tuesday night May 19th
With our 20 Year Anniversary around the corner, we decided
The Eat Place
deserved a little face lift. So, we teamed up with Design Republica (the same firm that helped craft the look and feel of our beloved A.M. Wine Shoppe) and began some serious redesign work back in March.
After Sunday's Brunch service, we will begin the whirlwind process of clearing out the old and welcoming in the new! Unfortunately we will need to close Sunday evening through Tuesday evening to get the brunt of the work done.
When we re-open Wednesday night, you all will get to see the direction that we're heading in!
The space will be a "work in progress" through the rest of the Summer, but the majority of the changes will be completed before our big celebration on Wednesday, May 27th.
So swing by after Tuesday to get a sneak peak of the new

An opportunity to connect with sustainable agriculture,

What to bring: Healthy pot luck main course and/or desserts. No cola products, chips or other junk food please. Also, bring your own plates, utensils and cups, (but no styrofoam or plastic throw-away wrap, plates, utensils, cups, etc.) We try to keep down our trash.
Directions from the Washington DC Beltway: Take 270 North toward Frederick, MD. At approximately 30 miles from the beltway, merge onto 70 West toward Hagerstown, MD.
Go about 45 miles (almost to Hancock MD). Exit at Route 615 (exit 5) and turn left onto Route 615 North.
Stay on Route 615 until it dead ends at Damascus Church and Cemetery (approx. 7 miles).
Turn left onto PA 928. It dead ends in about ½ mile. Turn right and in about 100 yards you come to a “Y” (or fork) in the road. Bear right onto Gem Bridge Road.
Go about 3 and ½ miles until you notice a sign for Dent Road. Keep going straight. About 100 yards from Dent Road you’ll notice a white mail box and a dirt road on the right.
There is no sign, but this bumpy dirt road is Donahoe Lane. Take a right onto it. In about ½ mile you’ll notice an overlook on the left, and down below you’ll see our barn, farm house, Christmas trees, etc. Continue all the way down and park in the grass. Welcome!

Licking Creek Bend Farm started in 1972 as a diaspora kibbutz. It's presently a worker-run farm with 6 full-time employees. The produce is sold to food co-ops, at 4 farmers markets, to a 100 family CSA and Goucher College and Johns Hopkins through Bon Appetit Food Services.
