Adams Morgan Movie Nights continues on 5/30 with Snowden
**New Location for 2017: Walter Pierce Park Soccer Field**
**This past Tuesday's showing of Grease was rained out and has been rescheduled for June 20**
Adams Morgan Movie Nights returns this year with an eclectic lineup of movies and plenty of fun for the whole family. Due to construction at Marie Reed School, we've been forced to temporarily relocate the film series to Walter Pierce Park this year, but we'll return to Marie Reed for 2018. Walter Pierce Park is located at 2630 Adams Mill Rd. with an alternate entrance adjacent to Mama Ayesha’s near the foot of the Duke Ellington Bridge on Calvert Street.
We will be giving away free cookies again this week, and we've arranged for a larger allotment from our friends at
Insomnia Cookies
to help keep up with demand. We're going to start distributing the cookies at 7:30 at the double-gate on the west end of the field (closest to Rock Creek).
If you want a cookie, you must enter through that gate.
Also, anyone arriving while the preceding soccer game is still going on should use that gate to minimize any disruptions to their game.
Movies start approximately 30 minutes after sunset. Kids are welcome, but
no alcohol or pets
please.

Summer Concert Series continu
es next Saturday!
Our Summer Concert Series will be taking a break this weekend for Memorial Day and will pick up next Saturday, June 3 with Jelly Roll Mortals. The concerts take place on Saturday afternoons through May and June in front of BB&T Bank at the corner of Columbia Rd. and 18th St., NW. There will be a special show on Monday evening, June 5 that will start at 6pm, but otherwise, all shows will go from 5 - 7pm.

Unity Park renovations
Unity Park is currently closed for renovation and will reopen June 30th with new features to better serve the Adams Morgan Community. These improvements include better lighting, more seating and new pavement.
The plans for Unity Park resulted from multiple collaborative design discussions with ANC1C, the AMPBID, and interested Adams Morgan neighbors.

Kalorama Park Community Day 2017: Saturday June 3
The 2nd Annual Kalorama Park Community Day celebration is coming up on Saturday, June 3 from 11:00 am – 3:30 pm! The Fund for Kalorama Park is aiming to build on the success of last year’s event, this year with even more fun activities, entertainers, and local businesses and organizations. Fund for Kalorama Park Fundraiser
The Fund for Kalorama Park, a 501(c)(3), is launching a fundraiser to be able to continue and enhance care for this amazing space and community hub. They are seeking to raise at least $18,000 for 2017 to be used for:

A wood sculpture to be carved from the stumps of the two beautiful oak trees that were lost in the center of the park

Ongoing park maintenance (bench upkeep, pavement repairs, improved fencing)

Improved landscaping (mulching, edging, cleaning, new plants, lawn care)

DCRA Launches New Online Permit Application
Skip the Trip, apply for your building permit online!
The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) has launched a revision to its Online Construction Permit Intake (OCPI) system. The upgraded OCPI system will allow most permit applicants to apply for and obtain a permit entirely online - without a trip to the agency.
Applicants for intermediate and complex jobs will now be able to submit their application entirely online, upload plans through DCRA’s ProjectDox system, and then pay for and obtain a copy of the issued permit without setting foot in the agency. Previously, applicants needed to visit the agency when they initially submitted their application and then again when it was time to pay remaining fees and pick the permit up. OTR Launches New Online Payment Agreement Application
The Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) announced today that it is offering individual and business taxpayers the ability to apply for a payment agreement online to pay off tax debt owed to the District. The Online Payment Agreement is an internet application available on OTR’s portal,
MyTax.DC.gov
.
“This new tool is part of OTR’s commitment to improve and expand taxpayer services by providing additional online taxpayer options,” said Keith Richardson, deputy chief financial officer for the Office of Tax and Revenue. “This new process allows taxpayers or their authorized tax representatives a simple and convenient way to establish payment agreements while eliminating the need for paper forms, calls, and personal interaction with the OTR.”
To be eligible for an online payment agreement, taxpayers must meet the following requirements:

Pay the full amount of the tax liability within 24 months
-
File all required tax returns not included in the payment agreement
-
Have not cancelled previous payment agreements
-
Does not have a business tax debt that exceeds $50,000
An online payment agreement allows taxpayers to pay any remaining balance due in monthly automatic ACH debit withdrawals from their checking or savings accounts. The OTR does not charge a fee for setting up the online agreement.
