. AMPBID members who attended the meeting today completed a survey that will help inform DDOT about the needs of business owners and commercial property owners.
Clarence Myers, our Safety Ambassador, will pass out paper copies of the survey today to everyone who wasn't at the meeting. The survey is also avilable online here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DCparking
. The survey is non-technical in nature and can be completed in less than 10 minutes. Please fill out online survey or return paper copies to Kristen no later than Friday June 14th.
Here is additional information about the survey:
On behalf of the DC Department of Transportation, Streetsense, in conjunction with NelsonNygaard Associates, is conducting a study to understand curbside parking demands and conditions for local DC establishments. Your feedback and information is vitally important to this effort.
STREETSENSE ROLE: To gather information through surveys, interviews, and focus groups to provide insight and recommendations that represent the curbside needs of DC’s various types, sizes, and locations of commercial districts
Purpose of the Study
1. Review existing parking permit policies
2. Establish a value-basis for curbside designations
· What’s the value of a parking space?
· To whom? Bikes, ZipCars, taxis, loading vehicles, residents, customers, employees?
3. Clarify competing regulations to apply more uniform enforcement
Standards for Successful Implementation
· Protect DC neighborhoods as desireable, affordable and accessible places for a variety of household types, ages and abilities to come or continue to live
· Protect and enhance the vitality of DC neighborhood commercial districts
· Increase access, for all District households, to the assets and amenities of the District including quality employment, schools, and retail destinations.
· Enable the continued population and economic growth of the District
· Improve and/or expand the safe, smooth and efficient operation of travel networks
