The Washington Metropolitan Area District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is pleased to accept nominations for the 2023 National Small Business Week (NSBW) awards program, part of NSBW activities scheduled April 30 to May 6.

Applications open Monday for a
new $8 million round of Bridge Funds for businesses and sole proprietors in the restaurant, entertainment, and retail sectors
that lost revenue due to the pandemic. Grant awards will range from $5,000-$45,000. Businesses that have not previously received relief funds will receive priority in grant awards.

The DC Department of Public Works has opened another round of public comments to the
Zero Waste DC Plan
draft framework. DPW is considering a number of recommendations affecting restaurant operations, including how food waste, reusable containers, and recycling are handled. Comments are due by December 30.

2022 Small Business Credit Survey
|
This voluntary survey
is sponsored solely by the Federal Reserve Banks.
The questions are best answered by an owner or key financial decision maker of your business
and will take about 10 minutes.
Survey responses will be aggregated for research and analysis. The Federal Reserve Banks will not disclose individual or identifiable survey responses except to trusted service providers to prepare data for analysis under strict confidentiality guidelines or if required by law or legal process. The Federal Reserve Banks may make anonymized data publicly available.

CNHED’s Executive Leadership Education Venture Advancing Talented Entrepreneurs (ELEVATE) Program provides best-in-class training to minority-owned small businesses (MBEs) located in DC. Through ELEVATE, MBEs work to acquire new skills that allow them to more effectively and efficiently manage their business, products, and services, as well as increase revenue and employment.
ELEVATE is the only minority executive education program in DC that is backed by a university partner. The 3-month ELEVATE curriculum, developed by the George Washington School of Business (GWSB) Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, is led by GWSB faculty members.
