1) Time for the annual Adams Morgan Partnership BID Member survey
Clarence Myers, our Safety Ambassador, and Ailis Grosh, our Summer Intern, will begin distributing the annual member survey today. This survey helps us better provide services to businesses and commercial property owners. This is our annual self-evaluation tool.
Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey mail it back to us at: Adams Morgan Partnership BID, PO Box 21507, Washington, DC 20009 or give to Clarence or Ailis. You are welcome to drop it off at our office too: 1640 Columbia Road, NW.

2) Adams Morgan Summer Concert Series - continues tomorrow May 16th - wristband discount program along with hula hoops!

We are really excited to be hosting another Summer Concert Series on
Saturdays in May and June. This will be our 7th year rocking out the plaza in
front of BB&T Bank!
The dates left are May 30th, June 6th and 13th from 5 to 7 pm.

There has been great response to the music series so far! The hula hoops
are a big hit along with the wrist band discount program.
Wear the bracelet. Get the discounts. More than 12 businesses are offering

3) Adams Morgan Movie Nights continue on June 2
Adams Morgan Movie Nights is back! One of our most popular events of last year just got bigger and better. The series continues on June 2 through June 16th, with five films (up from three last year) on Tuesday nights approximately 30 minutes after sundown.

is organizing a ride to the movie on June 2nd. Contact the shop to join the ride. Many thanks to both

for hosting the bike valet this Summer.
The Marie Reed School PTA will be hosting the concessions stand with popcorn, candy, refreshments, etc...
Attendees are encouraged to come early, throw down a blanket and enjoy the beautiful Marie Reed School and Rec Center soccer field at 18th and California Street, NW.
We will hand out swag bags with treats and offers from local businesses so please contact Joanna Robinson at Lunar Massage if you would like to participate. WE NEED THE SWAG ITEMS BY MONDAYS each week.
The bags were very popular last year, so it is worth the effort. We will pass out 125 bags at each movie. First come, first serve. Joanna can be reached at:

June 2nd is Adams Morgan non-profit night at the movies. We have invited local nonprofit organizations to come set up a table and talk to movie goers about their mission.

4) Stroga (Strength + Yoga) at 1808 Adams Mill Road is
closing this week

We learned last week that Stroga at 1808 Adams Mill Road, NW is closing on
May 31.
They have been an important part of the Adams Morgan business
community since
2010 and will be missed. Here is an excerpt from the
official announcement:
“Hello Strogis,
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that after five years of
service. Stroga will be closing its doors for the last time May 31, 2015. We
want to thank everyone who has worked with us over the years. From our
wonderful members to the instructors who kept people coming back. For
members who have expiring class packages or memberships that run
through June, we have been looking for new places to host you all until
your memberships are complete. We will contact you all soon to tell you
where everyone can use their passes."
No news yet on what will replace them but we'll post it here when we know.

5) Lotus Blooms is opening at 2408 18th Street, NW

6) TODAY May 29th: Jug and Table opens in first floor beneath Roofers Union

is excited to announce the opening of Jug & Table on Friday, May 29 at 5pm. Located on the first floor, below Roofers Union,
Jug & Table will offer an entirely unique experience with a wholly distinctive wine list, cocktail offerings and food menu from its upstairs, beer-focused counterpart
. As the name suggests, the cozy, urbane bar will expound on the mission to make quality wine approachable while supporting the belief that wine is meant to be enjoyed more and revered less earnestly.
From behind the bar, Theo Rutherford, a certified sommelier with more than ten years of experience in the DC restaurant industry, will offer expert advice on the 20 wines to be quaffed by the glass, ranging in price from $6 to $16. Dual temperature tap lines allow for eight wines on tap, each of which can be served in quantities of three, six or nine ounces. In total, guests can choose from a list of 40 affordable, hand-picked wines, while hopefully trying something new and learning more about what grapes they gravitate towards.
For Rutherford, Jug & Table is a homecoming of sorts, having served as opening bar manager and sommelier for Ripple (a sister restaurant) before going on to helm wine programs at Rogue 24, Fiola, and Café Dupont, to name a few. Theo will serve his own signature cocktails, for which he has a cult following, in addition to a daily punch bowl of his own creation. In a perfectly logical play to strengths, beers will mirror those picked ou
t by Roofers Union General Manager and Beer Director, Dave Delaplaine.
Each day for happy hour, from 5pm to 7pm, Jug & Table will offer three wines by the glass for $5: a red, a white and a sparkling. In addition, groups can choose from two sharable “jug” options, over two bottles worth of wine, ranging in price from $20 to $25.
Executive Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley will place her stamp on Jug & Table with an
assortment of her popular grilled cheeses, cheese & charcuterie, and lux snacks
served in jars such as liver mousse with toasted bread and rhubarb jam, duck rillettes, burrata with marinated vegetables, and Marcona almonds fried in lardo and sprinkled with rosemary. Grilled cheeses range from Greek with Taleggio, goat cheese, lamb, roasted red peppers and mint pesto, to American with cheddar, bacon jam, and tomato. Cheeses include a Fromagerie Mont Royal Tradition from the acmes of Basque Country, a Boerenkaas Gouda with a variety of textures and a balance of sweet and salty flavors, and a La Tur which combines milk of sheep, goat and cows to obtain a dense, creamy interior. Charcuterie ventures into duck prosciutto, bresaola, fennel salami and more.
Jug & Table will be open 5pm to close, Tuesday through Saturday, and closed Sunday and Monday.
7) Bossa Collective at Bossa Bistro at 2463 18th Street, NW
Bossa Collective
, housed at Bossa Bistro + Lounge in Adams Morgan at 2463 18th Street NW, is a shared work space for artists, activists, and entrepreneurs. Bossa Collective is open to members Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Wifi, coffee, printing, conference room, client resource management support through nationbuilder and a mailing address are available through the space. Cost is $200/per month.
Bossa Collective will foster a community of shared social consciousness where members support one another's projects and when able collaborate to increase their impact. Monthly lunches will be held allowing members to share their work and receive feedback and support in reaching their individual or organizational goals.
Bossa Bistro and Lounge
is also available for members to hold events; including panel discussions, dinner parties, live music, video presentations, and other artistic gatherings.
8) Mint Fitness Condition Day - June 6th
The 2nd Annual MINT Condition Day will be Saturday, June 6th from 9 am to 2 pm on the Marie Reed Soccer Field.
There will be a Moonbounce and kids activities, fresh juices from Puree, free-sample farmer's market, raffles, games and more!
