We are opening mid-October at the old 18th and Red space.  We undertook a complete renovation of the building, while keeping the character of the building in mind.   Some of the highlights of the space are the 3rd floor addition of a penthouse and rooftop deck with outdoor seating, 24 beers on tap, tons of original art, and hand tossed pizzas baked on a stone.

Our hours will be 11am-2am Sun-Thurs, and until 3am on Fri-Sat.  We don’t have our phone number yet as Comcast just did the install but I can provide that later.

New parking rates with validation at Colonial garage

In March of 2009, The Adams Morgan Partnership BID, with
the assistance of Councilmember Jim Graham, negotiated a terrific deal
for day-time parking in Adams Morgan. With the increased rates at the
parking meters, it became cheaper and more convenient to park in the parking garage than parking on the street! That is still true!

Colonial Parking garage (access is on the east side of 18th Street, NW south of Columbia Road and just north of Belmont Road, NW) just notified us that as of October 1, their rates will go up. This is due to a new parking tax applied on all garages by DC Government.

The new rates with a validation stamp from any business in Adams Morgan,

are $3.00 for up to 2 hours and $7.00 for up to 4 hours.

The way it works:

You take the ticket from the garage, the business owner puts the sticker on the ticket and you return to the garage and pay only $7.00 for up to 4 hours!

This deal is still available until 5 PM, every day of the week. You must be out of the garage by 5 PM when regular rates will apply. Also the validation is
only good for UP to 4 hours, any fraction thereafter, whether before 5pm or
not, will incur the MAX fee which currently went up to $17.00. If you stay beyond the 4 hours, and leave after 5pm on a Friday and Saturday, the MAX rate of $19.00 will apply.

For more information or to request more validation stickers from Colonial call Carol Kabuji at: 202-295-8123.

Small Business Saturday - November 26th - start planning now!

November 26th marks the second annual Small Business Saturday , a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.

Small Business Saturday (SBS) was created in 2010 by American Express in response to small business owners’ most pressing need: creating more demand for their products and services.  1.5 million Facebook users, 130 public and private organizations, and 41 elected officials declared their support for SBS last year.  100,000 small businesses downloaded SBS marketing materials, 10,000 businesses signed up for free Facebook advertising that ran on SBS and 200,000 consumers registered their American Express cards to receive $25 statement credits when they shopped at a small business on SBS.  In the first year, small retailers who accept the American Express Card saw a 28% increase in sales on SBS.

(1) To be eligible to receive $100 worth of Facebook ads, you must register your business at Facebook.com/smallbusinesssaturday . Registration is limited to the first 10,000 merchants. Limit one offer per registrant.

(2) To be eligible for the statement credit, you must register your eligible American Express Card at Facebook.com/smallbusinessaaturday . You may only register one Card for this offer. Using your registered American Express Card, you must spend $25 or more at participating small business merchants on 11/26/2011 to receive the $25 statement credit.

3) Eligible merchants include any independently owned small businesses that accept the American Express Card. Purchases made online, at large, national chains, at franchised business locations and at government agencies are not eligible. Prepaid, corporate cards and ExpressPay transactions are not eligible. If your Card is replaced during the promotional period, please call the customer service number on the back of your Card for assistance.

Registration is limited to the first 200,000 enrollees. Limit one statement credit per Cardmember. Statement credits are generally issued within five business days after your qualifying purchase, but may take up to two billing cycles to post to your account. Additional terms apply; see registration website for details.
