DC Water will be performing a water shut off on
Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 2:00am until 8:00am.
DC Water’s contractor will be on location to perform construction activities in front of
2448 18th Street NW
. These construction activities will affect residents and businesses on
18th Street
between Belmont Street NW and Columbia Road NW.
The following addresses may experience a water outage, and have received notification: 2406, 2420, 2434, 2437, 2440, 2442, 2446, 2461, 2463, and 2477 18th Street NW
We appreciate your continuous assistance and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you.
All affected should have received notification from DC Water. Once the tie-in is complete and has been deemed successful the water main will be recharged immediately.

MPD Fraud/Scam Alert
We received the following from MPD today:
MPD would like to bring two incidents to your attention in the Adams Morgan area for your businesses to be aware of.
On October 6th, 2013 at Duplex Diner (2004 18th St NW) a theft report was taken whereby S1 entered the establishment and purchased food. S1 paid with a $100 bill. When the cashier gave him change S1 stated the change was wrong. As the cashier was recounting the change the suspect put the $100 bill back in his pocket, received the change as well, and left the location. S1: Black male, 60-65 years old.
On October 10th, 2013 at Pleasant Pops (1781 Florida Ave NW) a similar incident occurred whereby an individual attempted to pay with a $100 bill. When the cashier was counting change the suspect began disputing the change and trying to distract the cashier. As the cashier recounted the change he lost track of the $100 bill and believes the suspect took it back as well as took the change. S1: Black male, 63-65 years old, tall, average build, bald head, clean shaven, with a lazy eye.
It is clear both cases involved 100 dollar bills and a older gentlemen. If any of your places have had similar incidents please contact me as well as please warn all your establishments.

To our customers caught in the furlough, let us know and we'll give you an apple!! And here's an invitation to spend a few days on the farm.
