, a free, fun way to experience art brought to you by the
Adams Morgan Partnership BID

The DC Arts Center
, local artists, and neighborhood businesses! Walk the streets of Adams Morgan and admire an impressive selection of artwork displayed in various storefronts in a self-guided walking tour starting April 3 through April 30. Each participating local artist has a variety of artwork on display in an Adams Morgan business. Thanks to overwhelming support from the community since the event’s initial launch in 2020, it has continued to grow with increased participation from local businesses and artists.

ANC 1C01 special election: April 1 from 3:30-8:30pm
|
On Saturday, April 1,
ANC1C
will hold a special election for the current vacancy for single member district 1C01. The election will be held from 3:30pm-8:30pm at the
Adams Morgan Community Center
within the Line Hotel, located at 1770 Euclid St NW.
In order to open and close the special election, ANC 1C is required to hold a special meeting to occur at the same time as the special election. The meeting will be held via Zoom; information to join this meeting is shown below. The sole purpose of the special meeting is to satisfy the legal requirement for a quorum of commissioners to open and close the special election. No other action or public comment will take place during the special meeting and all ballots must be cast in person at the Adams Morgan Community Center in the Line Hotel.

Happy Women's History Month!
|
After an exciting few weeks celebrating the many woman-owned businesses in Adams Morgan, we can’t help but feel thankful to be surrounded by so many strong, entrepreneurial women.
We are wrapping up the month with a feature on the sister-led team at
El Tamarindo
. Jose and Betty Reyes came to DC in the early 1980s with a shared dream of settling down and building a new family life in the United States. They worked and carefully set their earnings aside because they had come to realize another shared dream — opening their own restaurant. Jose and Betty’s dream came true when, in 1982, they opened El Tamarindo in Adams Morgan. Their daughters, pictured here, have been a part of El Tamarindo since they could walk! Cheers to these dedicated women for all of their hard work each and every day.

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) is accepting nominations for the five publicly voted categories in the
2023 RAMMY Awards
through March 31st.
The Annual RAMMY Awards honor the exceptional ability and accomplishments of the hard-working individuals and organizations of the Washington, DC region’s restaurant and foodservice community.
The 41st Annual RAMMY Awards and Gala will take place on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Downtown DC. Finalists will be announced on Monday, April 10, 2023.

Fundraising Event for Joseph's House
|
Joseph's House DC will proudly celebrate 33 years of providing and coordinating holistic care for homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS, and cancer at Shepherding Hope, a Fundraising Event. Joseph's House supports each individual by honoring dignity, offering companionship, and promoting justice. This event will take place on May 11, 2023 from 6-8pm, at The Generator Hotel in Washington, DC. Shepherding Hope will provide a unique opportunity for Joseph’s House to connect with community leaders, partners and supporters, and a network of volunteers to celebrate their collective work bridging the wide disparities of care for the vulnerable individuals they serve. Bike to Work Day is on May 19 -- Registration is Now Open!
|
The League of American Bicyclists began Bike to Work Day as part of Bike Month in 1956. Over the years, Bike to Work Day has grown into a widespread event with countless bicyclists taking to the streets nationwide in an effort to get commuters to try bicycling to work as a healthy and safe alternative to driving alone. In the Metropolitan Washington region, Bike to Work Day has grown from a small group of a few hundred in 2001 to an all-time high of 18,700 participants in 2017.
The
Adams Morgan pit stop will be at Unity Park
again this year. Adams Morgan regularly has one of the highest registration rates in the city and we plan on having refreshments and other goodies available to riders in addition to the free t-shirt. We'll be updating you with more information as the event gets closer.

Keeping It Cool Grant Program
will provide $400,000 in grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to support cold storage infrastructure and equipment needs of food businesses and nonprofit organizations providing food-related goods and services in the Washington, DC region. Eligible locations include:
