A 6ft trees grown without pesticides can take over 10 years to grow. We grow our trees on what is called "marginal land", land that is too hilly to grow vegetables. For every tree we cut, we plant 6-10 new trees. Watch

PSC Special Hearing Extended to Thursday, December 5
|
The Public Space Committee (PSC) has pushed back the upcoming special
hearing to review the streatery guidelines
from Thursday, November 14th to
Thursday, December 5th
. This extension was made to accommodate the request from ANCs to have more time to review the guidelines and pass formal resolutions on this topic.
This extension will allow you more time to submit comments prior to the upcoming hearing. All comments may be sent to the PSC Secretary, Courtney Williams at
Courtney.williams@dc.gov
. You may also attend the virtual hearing to provide oral comments.
Adams Morgan businesses with streateries are strongly encouraged to submit comments and/or attend the meeting in person.

Metro Announces Multiple Station Closures During Holidays
|
Beginning December 20, The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will be altering train service and closing some downtown blue, orange, and silver stations. This is part of a major construction project to improve tracks and signaling, and to create a smoother ride for customers. Construction includes replacing grout pads, replacing fasteners and studs, welding open joints; upgrading platform edge lighting; and more.
During the closure, shuttle buses will replace train service at affected stations, providing customers with alternate access to stations. Shuttles will also use the existing bus lanes on H Street and I Street to speed up travel.
From December 20-26, the following stations will be closed:

Farragut West
-
McPherson Square
-
Metro Center (lower level/Blue, Orange, and Silver service closed)
Additionally, from December 20-26, the following services will be interrupted:
-
Blue Line will operate from Franconia-Springfield to Foggy Bottom (trains every 12 minutes).
-
Orange Line will operate in two segments from Vienna to Clarendon (trains every 12 minutes) and Federal Triangle to New Carrollton (trains every 16 minutes).
-
Silver Line will operate in two segments from Ashburn to Foggy Bottom (trains every 12 minutes) and Federal Triangle to Downtown Largo (trains every 16 minutes).
From December 27-30, the following stations will be closed:

ICYMI: DC Circulator Service Termination
|
On Monday, July 29, 2024, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced the start of the planned phase-down of DC Circulator service, which began October 1, 2024, culminating with service ending December 31, 2024.
Effective October 1, the following changes have taken place:
-
The Rosslyn-Dupont Circle (RS-DP) route has been terminated.
-
Late-night service on Woodley Park- Adams Morgan (WP-AM) and Georgetown-Union Station (GT-US) routes are terminated. Services will end service at 9:00 p.m. daily.
-
Remaining routes are operating on 20-minute headways.
Effective December 31, 2024, at 9:00 pm, all remaining routes will be terminated.

Thanksgiving Extended Hours
|
For Thanksgiving Day weekend, alcohol licensed establishments enrolled in the
Extended Holiday Hours Program
may sell, serve, and allow on-premises consumption of alcohol until 4:00 a.m. and operate 24 hours starting the evening of Wednesday, November 27—Sunday, December 1.
Licensees may confirm enrollment by locating their establishment’s name on the
2024 Thanksgiving Extended Hours Roster
. If you believe your establishment was omitted by error, email
ABCA.AlcoholLicensing@dc.gov
.
To Register
There is no fee to register in the Extended Holiday Hours Program. Registrations are accepted on a rolling basis, and once approved, venues are eligible to participate in all following permitted holidays for the year. Board Orders and Settlement Agreements apply to enrolled and prospective registrants.
Registration must be received 30 days before the first holiday a licensee would like to extend their hours. The next registration deadlines are for:

Christmas Day Weekend | Registration Deadline—Monday, November 25:
Tuesday, December 24 – Wednesday, December 25; Friday, December 27 – Sunday, December 29
