AMPBID Board meeting
The next Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) Board of Directors' meeting will be Tuesday, June 12 at 5-7:00 PM at the Festival Center at 1640 Columbia Rd NW. Hope you can join us!

Board members should call or email Kristen at 202-997-0783 or kbarden@adamsmorganonline.org if you are unable to attend, otherwise we will assume you are attending. The meeting agenda will be sent out to board members before the meeting.

AMPBID Board Member Vacancy

Immediately after the Tuesday May 8th Board of Director's meeting, a commercial property owner submitted their resignation to the board.

The process for replacing a board member who has resigned according to our bylaws says: "shall be filled by a vote of the majority of the remaining Directors at a special meeting of the Board of Directors held for such purpose promptly after the occurrence of any such vacancy....The person so elected shall be a member until a successor is elected at the next annual meeting of the Members for the remainder of the term created by such vacancy."

At the June 12th board meeting at 5 pm at 1640 Columbia Road, NW, the board will vote on a new Adams Morgan commercial property owner to fill out the remainder of the term. Interested commercial property owners should submit their resume to Kristen Barden, Executive Director, by email to kbarden@adamsmorganonline.org not later than Monday June 11th.

6th Annual Taste of Adams Morgan is Tuesday!

Stroll, sip, and sample your way through one of DC’s most vibrant neighborhoods on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, from 5-9pm at the 6th Annual Taste of Adams Morgan benefitting Mary’s Center . Taste of Adams Morgan is an annual culinary stroll during which local restaurants open their doors to provide tastings to 600+ attendees. All proceeds benefit Mary’s Center and the 50,000 individuals and families who will be served this year.

Adams Morgan Movie Nights featuring Jackie on Tuesday

We finally kicked off our movie series this week with Hairspray! The movie was great and a good time was had by all.

On Tuesday we'll be back with Jackie, featuring Natalie Portman's Oscar-nominated performance as Jackie Kennedy in the days following JFK's assassination.

We're back at the soccer field at Marie Reed School this year with a great lineup of films and some other fun stuff you won't want to miss including free cookies from Insomnia Cookies for the first 250 guests, and the Marie Reed PTA will be on hand selling snacks to raise money for their programs.

Also, we're encouraging neighborhood restaurants to prepare to-go meals for you to take with you to the field. Read the next item below for more information on that.

Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers.

Register for 2018 All-Star Game and World Cup extended hours
Eligible restaurants, taverns, nightclubs, hotels, multipurpose facilities and manufacturers can apply to sell, serve and allow for the consumption of alcoholic beverages for longer periods of time during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2018 MLB All-Star Game. For more information on this program and the applicable dates and times, please visit their website .
In order to participate in the 2018 FIFA World Cup extended hours, a licensee must submit a registration form to The Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration's (ABRA) by Thursday, June 7, 2018.
In order to participate in the 2018 MLB All Star Game extended hours, a licensee must submit a registration form and public safety plan to ABRA by Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
Additionally, licensees that have questions about the process and applicable hours are invited to attend a free 15-minute 2018 All-Star Game and World Cup extended hours special training.
The training will cover:
  • Which establishments are eligible for this special extended hours period
  • Which dates and times the extended hours apply
  • Registration requirements
Two free training sessions are scheduled for Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Licensing specialists will be available after the trainings to assist with any All-Star Game or World Cup extended hours applications.

Attend ABRA's Licensee Orientation Training June 14, 2018.

New and existing ABC licensees are invited to attend the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration's (ABRA) Licensee Orientation Training from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 to learn about:

  • District ABC laws and regulations (including recent changes to the law),
  • Tips for working effectively with the community,
  • Settlement Agreements,
  • Expectations of licensees,
  • Best practices, and
  • Noise abatement and sound management.
