1) AMPBID Marketing Committee meeting on Tuesday April 19th at 2 PM
The next AMPBID Marketing Committee meeting will be Tuesday April 19th at 2 PM at the AMPBID Offices at 1802 Belmont Road, NW. Please let Kristen know if you are coming so we are sure to have enough
room
to accommodate everyone. New faces and new ideas are always welcome.
Under
old business is: a report on a possible lighting project with Sal Fiorito, an update on banners for jersey walls during the construction and continuing to launch the new Iphone application. We are going to be redoing the bus shelter
posters, distributing more Welcome Packets for new businesses and new residents,
and the new website. Under new business, we'll talk about the upcoming Taste of Adams Morgan on June 7th that we are working on with Adams Morgan
Main Street and the Third Annual Summer Concert Series beginning on June 4th as well as hosting a pit stop for Bike to Work Day on May 20th.

Beginning with this issue of "News You Can Use," we are going to start including useful links to information and news about our businesses. Please send me a useful link your found about transit, marketing, cleaning, rat abatement, real estate development, retail sales, your patio is now open for the season or your new new shipment of sofas has arrived....basically whatever you'd like your neighbors to know about!

Update on 18th Street Streetscape construction
Also available is the 2 week plan for construction.
There are some great photos of the work DDOT is doing to remove the old street car tracks and install the new water main on 18th Street under the News and Updates tab.
Pepco’s work on 18th Street is almost complete and will continue
through April 22, 2011.
4) Reminder about Bike to Work Day - May 20th
The
Adams Morgan Partnership BID, along with City Bikes and the Washington Area
Bicyclist Association (WABA), are hosting a pit stop for the Bike to Work Day
on Friday May 20th from 7 AM to 9:30 AM across the street from City Bikes in Unity Park
(Columbia Road/Champlain Street
and Euclid Streets, NW).
We will
have FREE water, fruit, juice, coffee and breakfast goodies plus if you
register for the Adams Morgan pit stop at:

you can pick up your
FREE tshirt in Adams Morgan!
We
will have DJ Matt spinning hits from the 80s, 90s, 2000s and beyond...to
pump up your ride to work that day!

5) Adams Morgan Main Street's Very Cherry AdMo PopUp Shop – tomorrow April 16th is the last day
Adams Morgan MainStreet's Very Cherry PopUp Shop located at 2421 18th
Street, NW will close tomorrow April 16th. This spontaneous shop in a vacant retail space has become a venue where both visitors and locals can find unique items to purchase.
In addition to blogs and
websites, Adams Morgan Main Street's Admo PopUp
Shop has garnered excellent
publicity, especially for arts & retail, as the feature on Channel 5's morning show with Holly Morris and WAMU's Kojo Namdi's show described. Now is the time to see
this creative spontaneous shop and find unique, hand-made items in all price
ranges and types!
