AdMo Vibe concerts continue in Kalorama Park next week with Justin Trawick and the Common Good
|
AdMo Vibe
is the ultimate setting for a family night out, date night, relaxing evening in the park, or solo adventure. The bands will be playing various genres of music including folk, pop, classical, rock, jazz, and more. Concert goers can picnic with takeout from a local restaurant, enjoy good vibes with neighbors and friends, and visit an array of shops and boutiques just steps away before or after the performances.
This year's remaining schedule, concerts are 6pm-7:30pm at Kalorama Park:
On August 23 we’ll be joined by Because Science with a free science + music themed activity during the event.
Attention Adams Morgan restaurants:
We will be encouraging attendees to order takeout food and bring it to the performance much like we do with Adams Morgan Movie Nights. If you are interested in offering a "Picnic in the Park" special and/or would like more information, please contact Brian Barrie via

The DC Office of the Attorney General this morning published additional guidance about how service charges should be disclosed to diners.

President Joe Biden last week called on Cabinet officials to bring more workers into the office starting Fall 2023.

Just a few weeks left to complete DC’s required anti-sexual harassment training for restaurant and bar employees, owners, operators, and managers before the end of month deadline. Classes are $35 per person.

2023 World Culture Festival: Restaurant Opportunities
|
From The Art of Living Foundation:
The Art of Living Foundation is hosting the World Culture Festival at the National Mall in Washington DC, Sep 29–Oct 01. More than 17,000 artists from around the globe are performing at this event and more than 250,000 people are expected to attend with tens of millions of viewers online. Currently, more than 270,000 passes are registered for the event, of which 25% are from outside of the DMV and 7% are international. And so, DC will be hosting tens of thousands of international and national visitors who will have the opportunity to enjoy our vibrant and diverse restaurants. Destination DC estimates the economic impact to DC to be $29 million. Our hope is that it is closer to $50 million.
With hundreds of thousands of guests expected from outside DMV, we believe that restaurants in the area stand to benefit. To that effect, we would like to create a partnership with select restaurants.
Each visitor will receive a welcome pack from us, and the participating restaurants will be included in the welcome pack.
Our website currently has 200,000 visits per month with 5,000 people signing up for the festival each day. Participating restaurants will be listed on our website as the WCF preferred restaurants.
As partners, we would invite the restaurants to:

Capital is critical to small business growth and success, but many Black restaurant owners don’t have access to it because their communities have historically been locked out of economic opportunity. Consequently, Black-owned restaurants fail in higher numbers than those with white owners. If they survive, they grow more slowly, produce lower profits, hire fewer employees, and are less able to fuel wealth creation.
LISC created the Black Restaurant Fund, made possible by a donation from Uber, to bridge this capital gap by creating an equity-like investment fund to invest in the growth of Black-owned restaurants and food service businesses, with the objective of building a sustainable investment model to seed wealth building in Black communities.

💸 Commercial Property Acquisition Fund (DMPED)
The Commercial Property Acquisition Fund will provide eligible businesses with down payment assistance of up to $750,000 or 25% of the sale price, whichever is less, for the acquisition of commercial property in the District.
