The inaugural edition of Adams Morgan Date Nights last year in February and March was a huge success, so we want to to make it even bigger and better this year! We had nearly 1,000 participants in 2019 enter to win a free date and receive discounts around the neighborhood. Adams Morgan Partnership Annual Meeting

Join the Adams Morgan Partnership’s annual meeting on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020, from 9 am to 11 am at Roofers Union, 2446 18th Street, NW. Elections will be held for six positions on the Board of Directors. Join us at 9 am for a breakfast buffet before the presentations begin at 9:30 am. Election Process

At the March 10th Annual Meeting, BID members will have the opportunity to vote for candidates for six board slots: four property owners and two business owners.

The nominating committee has met and has nominated the following two people to fill the current vacancies on the board:

• Stephan Rodiger - property owner
• Linda Roth - property owner

In addition, the following current board members are seeking to renew their positions on the board:

• Jon Wilson - property owner
• Adam Crain - property owner
• Arianne Bennett - business owner
• Jonathan Wells - business owner

Proxy votes are allowed. Each person serving as a proxy can only do so for up to five BID members. This is a new rule per the bylaws revisions.

Pursuant to the BID bylaws, those interested in voting in the board elections by proxy can either contact the BID to request a proxy form, or can develop their own form, as long as it includes: the date of the meeting at which it is applicable (March 10) full names, addresses and the dated signatures of both the individual issuing the proxy and the witness(es) to the signature. The proxy voter can be anyone to whom the BID member designates to vote for them and DOES NOT have to be a member of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID. All proxy forms must meet all these criteria to be accepted.

Proxy forms are available by mail and by email, or they can be picked up at the AMPBID office at 1640 Columbia Rd., NW by appointment.

Valentine's Day Window/Storefront Design Contest Winners Announced

Over 20 local businesses participated in Adams Morgan's first-ever Valentine’s Day Window & Storefront Design Contest! Judging took place both in-person and online and now, the results are in! Drum roll, please...

2020 CSA SEASON starts the first week in June

HOW OUR CSA WORKS

The CSA will start Tuesday (June 2) and the first Saturday (June 6).  We'll have 4 sessions again - June-July; August-September; October; and November. November is only Saturday pick up, either at Adams Morgan or Takoma Park.

You can sign up for the entire season or by session. Either way, you need to pay before the session begins. So, we encourage you to plan accordingly. Early bird prices apply for the whole season.

You will get a reminder about two weeks before the beginning of each session, so you should have plenty of time to get your payment to us.

Membership Fee

We are not changing the prices from the last five years even though our costs have risen across the board on seeds, equipment, salaries, etc.! Please ask us to email you the Membership Form. As listed above, depending on how many pickups each session (either 8 or 9) the breakdown for full price comes to $37.50/week.

Early Bird

If you start off with an early bird price, we will honor that throughout the season as long as we get your payment before each session begins. If not, then the regular price will apply for that session.

Pro-rating

If you know before you pay each session that you won't be picking up on particular dates, pro-rate your amount and make sure you write on your form the dates you will not pick up. That is essential for our weekly counts.

2-month Session fees:

• Early Early Bird: $307.50
• Early Bird: $315.00
• Regular: $337.50

Competition for Robust Retail Grants is Now Open

The DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) is accepting applications for the Robust Retail grants which will award up to $10,000 to 40 retail business owners with stores anywhere within the District of Columbia. Home-based businesses and nonprofit organizations are not eligible for this grant.

This grant is targeted to retail businesses which might be struggling to stay open, trying to grow, and/or trying to adapt their business model to meet market changes. The grant can be used for any type of expense made between April 1 and August 31, 2020, except an expense which has been funded by a Great Streets grant.

This grant has a rolling deadline of January 15 to March 15. Grants will be awarded during the open deadline period so don’t wait until March 15th to apply, because all the funds could be gone by then. You must have a District of Columbia business license, a Dun & Bradstreet number, and an ARIBA supplier number in order to apply.

2020 Dream Big Awards Nominations & Applications

Individual awards are presented in eight distinct categories and the overall winner of the Dream Big Small Business of the Year receives a $25,000 cash prize. The DCPS Career Ready Internship Program partners with DC's Summer Youth Employment Program to place highly-qualified students in competitive, paid internships in their career field of interest -- at no cost to host employers -- students are paid $10 per hour for the 6 week internship.
