The Department of Health (DOH) has drafted a plan entitled the "Community Hygiene Program" to reduce rodent activity and enhance community services in the 2400 block of 18th Street, NW.

The plan will be discussed at a meeting on July 1, 2015 at 2:30 pm at 2447 18th Street, NW (Grand Central Restaurant) and is open to the public.

Businesses in the 2400 block of 18th Street, NW are strongly urged to attend. This plan will affect you.

The plan includes:

- an initial investigation

- recommendations

- inspections

- outeach education and

- baiting and enforcement

DOH staff from the Food Safety, Rodent and Vector Control will partner with business owners, the Adams Morgan Partnership BID, ANC1C, the Department of Public Works (DPW), the Mayor's Office of the Clean City, property managers and community members to implement the plan. DOH will be available to discuss the plan, objectives and timeline. DOH will also conduct training for business owners and staff on rodent exlcusion and proper sanitation.
