Drag Queen Storytime continues Sunday

We're partnering again this year with the DC Public Library and The Line Hotel DC to bring back Drag Queen Storytime ! Join us monthly including this Sunday, July 31 for a free children’s story time in Unity Park! We'll be set up in Unity Park on the last Sunday of every month from April through October at 11am. Rain location will be inside The Line Hotel DC (next to the park).

The goal of Drag Queen Storytime is to inspire a love of reading, while teaching deeper lessons on diversity, self-love and an appreciation of others. Visit ADMODC.ORG/STORYTIME for details.

AdMo Vibe concert series debuts August 3

We are excited to announce a new addition to our Summer programming lineup, AdMo Vibe!

AdMo Vibe is the ultimate setting for a family night out, date night, relaxing evening in the park, or solo adventure. The bands will be playing various genres of music including folk, pop, classical, rock, jazz, and more. Concert goers can picnic with takeout from a local restaurant, enjoy good vibes with neighbors and friends, and visit an array of shops and boutiques just steps away before or after the performances.

The series kicks off on Wednesday, August 3 with the Saints Band, a band comprised of several talented students from Adams Morgan’s very own Sitar Arts Center . The students have performed at many DC events (including Adams Morgan PorchFest) and enjoy engaging with the community.

Attention Adams Morgan restaurants:

We will be encouraging attendees to order takeout food and bring it to the performance much like we do with Adams Morgan Movie Nights. If you are interested in offering a "Picnic in the Park" special and/or would like more information, please contact Brian Barrie via email or at 202-536-9515. Your takeout items should be easily portable and ideally include utensils and a beverage. Note that alcohol is not allowed in DPR parks.

IMPORTANT: Special August informational meeting of the AMPBID Board

On Tuesday, August 9 at 5pm we will be joined by representatives from the DC Dept. of Transportation (DDOT) and the DC Dept. of Energy and Environment (DOEE) for a special informational board meeting. There will be no board business or votes at this meeting.

DDOT will be discussing proposed changes to Columbia Road between 16th Street and Connecticut Avenue. It is very important that Columbia Road business and property owners attend this meeting as the proposed changes will significantly affect parking and loading zones .

DOEE will give a presentation on the Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) program. BEPS was created to help meet the energy and climate goals of the Sustainable DC plan — to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption by 50% by 2032.

This program could have financial impacts on businesses and property owners.

We have set up a page on our website with more information on both of these projects as well as a link to join the zoom meeting

Please complete the AMPBID Annual Survey

Every year we conduct a survey evaluating our performance from the membership of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID. If you are a commercial property or business owner within the BID boundaries, please take a few minutes to complete this survey . It will help us to provide better services. If you would like a paper copy of the survey, please contact Brian Barrie via email or at 202-536-9515 and we'll get one to you. We've been distributing the surveys by hand, so you may have received one already. Response deadline extended to July 29.

  2. Choose exactly where you want your art to hang during registration.
  3. Install individually or in small groups for a more communal experience.

Farmers Market Saturday

The Adams Morgan Farmers Market is open for the season on Saturdays from 8:30am – 1:00pm , rain or shine, at UNITY PARK, Columbia Rd and Euclid St. NW. The market will be open every Saturday through December.

Music at the Farmers Market

With help from a grant from the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), we have hired a musician, Heidi Martin, to perform at the farmers market on Saturdays. In addition to playing folk music and jazz, she will also set aside a couple sets for children's music and will have instruments with her so they can participate. Heidi began as lead 3’s teacher with a joyous circle time. “Music 2Little Ears” grew into a creative set of children’s music performances, classes and private lessons. She is also a DC Jazz Festival Education Coordinator and a professional vocalist and composer.

ArtRave coming to Adams Morgan

DCRA transitioning into two new agencies

On October 1, 2022, the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) will transition into the District's newest agencies, the Department of Buildings (DOB) and the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP).

DOB and DLCP will serve residents, businesses, and visitors taking on responsibilities previously under DCRA.

DCRA is working on a seamless a transition as possible. However, creating two different agencies is an adjustment resulting in many questions on how each respective agency will serve the District.

Join a virtual public forum to learn more about DOB and DLCP on Thursday, July 27 at 6pm.
