February AMPBID Board Meeting
|
The next board meeting of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (AMPBID) will be on
Tuesday, February 8 at 5pm
via Zoom. In addition to regular business, the Nominations Committee will present their slate of board candidates which will appear on the ballot. The board will also vote on revisions to the bylaws.

Save the Date! Adams Morgan Partnership Annual Meeting
|
The Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 8 at 5pm.
We will have elections for 5 positions on the Board of Directors (3 property owners and 2 business owners). The ballot will also include a vote on revisions to the AMPBID Bylaws. The revised bylaws will be mailed along with the ballots immediately following the February 8 board meeting. Members will be able to vote as soon as they receive their ballots. All members of the BID should have received a postcard with details about the meeting. Results will be announced at the annual meeting in March.

Valentine's Day Storefront Decorating Contest
|
The Adams Morgan Partnership BID is sponsoring our third annual Valentine’s Day retail storefront decorating contest. All businesses within the boundaries of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID with sidewalk-facing windows are eligible to participate.
Prizes:
1st Place $500; 2nd Place $300; 3rd Place: $200
Judging will take place on Friday, February 11. Winners will be announced on Valentine’s Day (February 14). Businesses are encouraged to begin decorating their windows as soon as possible. Judging will be based on originality, use of space, overall creativity, and other factors as determined by the judges.
Judging will be conducted by a panel consisting of residents and elected officials. None of the judges will have any direct affiliation with participating businesses or be members of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID staff. The community will also be able to vote on their favorites through an online poll on our website from Friday, February 11 through Sunday, February 13.

Bridge Fund Application:
$40 Million Fund to Assist Businesses
|
The $40 million Bridge Fund will offer grants to support the recovery and long-term viability of brick-and-mortar small businesses in the restaurant, retail, and entertainment industries that have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Award
Awards will range from $20,000-$100,000. This program will prioritize businesses that have not received federal relief funds (Paycheck Protection Program) and microbusinesses with $2.5 million or less in revenue.
Use of Award
-
Business rent/mortgage (at least 50% of the award must be applied to rent)
-
Payroll and labor
-
Inventory (supplies but not merchandise for sale)
-
Operating expenses
Eligible businesses
The Bridge Fund will be open to businesses that meet the following criteria:
-
A small business in the restaurant, retail, or entertainment sector
-
Has an active DC Basic Business License and an active ABRA License, if applicable
-
For-profit, small business physically located in the District of Columbia at a brick-and-mortar location
-
Generated no more than $5 million in gross receipts each in 2019, 2020, and 2021
-
During the period April 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021, able to demonstrate at least a 30% loss of revenue when comparing the best consecutive three-month period with the worst consecutive three-month period

Through the Rebuild Bond Program, for a limited time small businesses can apply to issue Small Business Bonds™ with no origination fees. All businesses are encouraged to apply, especially those from communities which have historically been denied access to capital or which reside in Wards 5, 7, or 8.

2022 WPO 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Listing
|
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Women Presidents Organization and the 15th anniversary of the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies Sponsored by JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking.
Applicants are not required to be members, and will be ranked according to revenue growth from 2017 to 2021. To be eligible, companies must be:

Woman-owned/led

The business must have generated at least $500,000 USD in revenue in 2017 and every subsequent year

Revenues must be converted to USD

The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) is excited to announce they we will be accepting applications for the first round of Food Waste Innovation Grants.
These grants will provide support for restaurants, food manufacturers, shared commercial kitchens, and commercial corridors like Main Streets and Business Improvement Districts, to minimize food waste.
Reducing food waste in the District’s food businesses can cut food and waste costs, reduce rodents, and reduce carbon emissions.
