CONTACT WITH QUESTIONS:
DC Water 24 Hour Emergency Command Center 202-612-3400
We are sorry about the short notice on this. DC Water sent us an email at 3:15 this afternoon.
DC Water will be conducting a water outage on Monday night June 16 to Tuesday morning June 17 in support of the ongoing Large Valve Replacement Project at Columbia Rd NW and Euclid Street NW.
The plan is to perform test shuts on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 8:00pm until approximately 4:00am. This will require crews to be on location and to exercise various valves in the system to determine exactly what properties may be affected and for how long. This procedure is performed to eliminate the mishap that took place within the 1700 Block of Lanier Place NW a couple weeks ago.
Customers may experience a short water outage, low pressure or intermittent water disruption during the test procedures. However, they should not experience long durations of no water during this time.
Upon the completion of the testing operations, the plan is to move forward with the installation of the valve on the following Monday, June 23, 2014 from 8:00pm until 5:00am.
They anticipate the following locations will be affected, however if any others are affected after the test shuts are performed, they will be able to notify customers after Monday, June 16, 2014:
2500 block of 17th St NW
1630 and 1640 – 1664 Columbia Rd NW (even side only)
1801 – 1855 Calvert St NW (odd side only)
1915 – 1963 Calvert St NW (odd side only)
1700 Lanier Place NW
