Zoom Meeting: Overview of Goals & Opportunity for Feedback on Adams Morgan Nightlife Task Force
|
We have set up a Zoom meeting with Salah Czapary, Director of the Mayor's Office of Nightlife & Culture, to talk about the Adams Morgan Nightlife Task Force on
Tuesday, April 25 at 3:30pm.
The Mayor added Adams Morgan to the Nightlife Task Force as the 4th neighborhood in this citywide program. It began on March 10th here and continues each weekend. This meeting will be an opportunity to hear about the goals of the program and for you to ask questions or bring up concerns.
Salah will discuss the goals of the program and will answer any questions you might have.

, local artists, and neighborhood businesses! Walk the streets of Adams Morgan and admire an impressive selection of artwork displayed in various storefronts in a self-guided walking tour starting
April 3 through April 30
. Each participating local artist has a variety of artwork on display in an Adams Morgan business. Thanks to overwhelming support from the community since the event’s initial launch in 2020, it has continued to grow with increased participation from local businesses and artists.

Movie Nights: Brown Bag Movie Meals
We're looking for businesses who want to participate in our "Brown Bag to Movie Nights" program again this year.

Businesses enrolled in the Extended Holiday Hours Program may sell, serve, and allow on-premises consumption of alcohol until 4 am and operate 24 hours starting Friday evening and ending 4 am Monday. The next eligible holiday is Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 to 29.

Temporary Sidewalk Permits Expire May 31
Are you an operator with a Temporary Sidewalk Table Service Permits? These permits, introduced at the start of the pandemic, expire May 31. Restaurants that would like to continue sidewalk dining have until June 1 to obtain a Sidewalk Cafe permit. (This change does not apply to Streateries.)

This week debuted the Better Bus draft Visionary Network – the future bus network our region needs. With input from our customers, employees, and stakeholders, we created a draft network that is frequent, fast, and reliable, takes more people where they want to go, when they want to travel, and advances equity in the region.
Now, WMATA needs your help to spread the word to the region and encourage feedback! Every customer deserves the right to have a say in the future of their bus service. There are many ways to provide input and share this information:

💸 Commercial Property Acquisition Fund (DMPED)
The Commercial Property Acquisition Fund will provide eligible businesses with down payment assistance of up to $750,000 or 25% of the sale price, whichever is less, for the acquisition of commercial property in the District. This year, businesses will need to complete three mandatory sessions in order to apply for the Fund. OPEN now on a rolling basis until funds are expended.

Complimentary DC Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act (TWWFAA) Training at RAMW
The Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act (TWWFAA) requires District employers who hire individuals earning tips as wages to complete sexual harassment training every two years by an OHR-certified trainer. We've received inquiries from several of you on whether the implementation of Initiative 82 may change this training requirement. To clarify, it does not affect this required law in place. The first deadline to complete this training is August 31, 2023.
RAMW is working with several OHR-certified trainers to find a cost-effective solution for the required training. At this time, we are happy to offer two in-person training sessions at no cost on Tuesday, April 18 and Tuesday, May 16 - registration is required to attend. These sessions will be open for owners, operators, and managers and will be led by OHR-certified trainer Jen Jackman, Partner at Ice Miller LLP.
