4) Dinner Mixer Opportunities for Restaurants
Speedeals is partnering up with local dining out and “foodie” Meetup groups and other mixer/singles groups that are looking for restaurants in the area to host their events. In addition, they have thousands of registered users and will organize their own events. They would like to extend this great opportunity of hosting one of these events to restaurants in Adams Morgan.

They can bring you up to 40 new customers, and profits, on your slowest day of the week. Plus, since they are working with multiple groups, as well as organizing their own, they can do this several times and not as a one time event, if you choose.

Most of these groups are willing to meet on an off night (Sunday to Thursday) and are looking for a place that is offering a discount for the event. With a Speedeals event, they sell discounted vouchers to the customers for the event and then pay you. The greatest benefit of this is, even if not all of the customers show up, you will still get the full payment!

Benefits of Speedeals event:

Quality customers: Get diners, not deal chasers. Their members are not your typical Groupon deal chasers. The events are often theme based and people come for the food and conversation. Specific day and number of users: The time frame to use it is 2 hours, not 6 months to 1 year, like most deal sites. Also, you will know how many are coming, so you can plan for it. Less risk: You are not selling 1000 vouchers and then hoping for the best. You get a regular, controlled number of new quality customers, not hundreds in the first week that will crowd out your establishment and anger your regular customers. Off night: Bring customers in on your slowest night, not your busiest. More profit: The discount and fees will be less than what Groupon and the other deals sites demand. A small discount helps to encourage people to come, but is not the driving factor, like with daily deal sites. Brand Retention: Save your brand with discount capacity. Either through prix fixe or discounted vouchers, you are selling to a large group, so you are not doing individual discounts and there is no public discounting like with daily deals.

So if you want to get new customers on your slowest day of the week, please contact them at:  event@speedeals.info or call them at 1-800-530-3652 or visit them at www.speedeals.com.

6) Want Healthier Employees? Support a Smarter Commute!

Make it Competitive - Everybody Loves a Winner!

The idea of changing commuting habits isn't always easily received by some employees. And understandably so, as employees' regular commutes are often an integral part of their routines-it's not easy to switch it up on a dime. So, why not make a contest out of it? Everyone needs a little extra motivation now and then, and holding a one-time or annual smart commute competition is a great way to build excitement around the office and increase participation in your commuter benefits program.

There are many ways to launch an inter-company vs. company competition. First, decide what the measurement will be. Will the winner be the individual or team who saves the most money on their commute by ditching the car and carpooling or taking transit? Or, will the winner be the individual or team who loses the most weight walking or biking to work? You can be as creative as you want with your contest and run it for as long or as short as you want. In DC, since most places have accessible public transit, the options are endless - and so are the prizes. Some great ideas for prizes include SmarTrip cards with preloaded value on them, a Capital Bikeshare annual membership or a gift certificate for a pair of walking shoes. Go to: http://godcgo.com/home/get-my-employees-there/bikebrand-your-biz.aspx.

In the end, the goal of a contest is to get as many employees participating as possible and to get them to try healthier and more sustainable travel modes. As an added bonus, companies who hold contests typically find that some employees stick with their new commuting habits. If you would like free assistance in creating a workplace commute competition.
