Rice cookers and rice will be distributed free
on Saturday at the Adams Morgan farmers market
|
USA Rice, the national trade association for the U.S. rice industry, recently kicked off their second edition of the Think Rice Road Trip. The USA Rice team wants Americans to appreciate and be aware of U.S.-grown rice and eat more of it. So they are hitting the road in a Think Rice branded pick-up truck to travel across the country spreading the word of rice, distributing samples of U.S.-grown non-GMO rice, and handing out Aroma rice cookers.
The Think Rice Road Trip will be making a stop at the Adams Morgan Farmers Market. Starting at 10am (or while supplies lasts) on Saturday, November 9, market patrons will have the opportunity to receive a free Aroma rice cooker along with a 1lb sample of U.S.-grown rice at the market courtesy of USA Rice.
Handouts are limited to the first 100 people

DDOT Ward 1 Safety Improvement Open House
|
The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host an Open House for residents in Ward 1 to learn about current and future safety improvement projects that are advancing Mayor Bowser's Vision Zero and infrastructure goals. At the event, DDOT project managers and staff will be available to discuss safety and infrastructure projects along major corridors in Ward 1, including the 14th Street Streetscape, Crosstown Bike lanes, and the 16th Street Bus Lanes, among others. This Open House is an opportunity for residents to engage directly with DDOT staff to facilitate one-on-one conversations and receive answers for specific questions. There will not be a formal presentation, so residents can come and go when they are able without missing any of the content.
