Date Nights in Adams Morgan

The inaugural edition of Adams Morgan Date Nights last year in February and March was a huge success, so we want to to make it even bigger and better this year! We had nearly 1,000 participants in 2019 enter to win a free date and receive discounts around the neighborhood. If your business would like to participate, please contact Brian Barrie (202-536-9515) for more information. Take a look at the lineup from last year for a better idea of what was offered and why so many people entered to win. Participating businesses will benefit from additional marketing and social media postings as we promote the event through our social media channels and paid advertising.

Congratulations to our new Deputy Director

After serving us for nearly four years as Operations Manager of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID, Brian Barrie has been promoted to Deputy Director. If you have a business in the neighborhood, you probably already know and have worked with Brian, but if not, please feel free to contact him with any issues or questions and he'll do his best to help you out.

Holiday Tree and Greenery disposal

Residents in DPW-serviced households are asked to call 311 to make an appointment to schedule their tree and greenery collection for composting between December 27 - January 10. Trees and Greenery should be placed in front of residents’ homes or taken to the drop off locations where they will be composted and made available to residents at no charge. Please remove all ornaments and lights and do not place trees and greenery in bags.

If residents do not wish to participate in composting their holiday trees and greenery they can also be placed where your trash is normally collected. They will be picked up along with your trash as space in our trucks permits.

Residents of multi-unit buildings not serviced by DPW are responsible for their own tree disposal. Contact building management for details.

Reserved Parking and Validation at Colonial Garage

Colonial Garage (2421 18th St.) will now allow you to reserve parking in their garage.

In addition, participating Adams Morgan businesses can validate your parking so you will only pay $8 for up to 4 hours parking (until 5pm). All Adams Morgan businesses are able to participate in the validation program, but not all do, so please check with the business before you park to be sure. Businesses that want to participate can find more information on the program here .

Give Locally This Year

Adams Morgan is home to some of the most compassionate, creative and collaborative nonprofits in the city. Support a local nonprofit with your funds this year, and know that it goes to make a difference in our neighborhood, on our sidewalks, for our neighbors. Not ready to give? Consider volunteering in 2020. Here's a list of local nonprofits doing great work that you can support:

DC Business Toolkit

If you have not gotten the chance yet, check out the DC Business Toolkit. The DC Business Toolkit is an interactive online portal that centralizes the vast number of business assistance resources that are available citywide through DSLBD, sister agencies and service providers. This allows District businesses and residents exploring entrepreneurship to quickly find and use these tools to open, operate and grow their business in the District of Columbia.

Additionally, the DC Business Toolkit helps businesses promote themselves to prospective customers and make unique B2B connections with local vendors. Some examples of business assistance resources include: funding, classes, forms, regulatory guidance, coaching.

Private Security Camera Incentive Program

The Private Security Camera Incentive Program , administered by the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants, encourages residents, businesses, non-profits and religious institutions to install security camera systems on their property and register them with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). This program is intended to help deter crime and assist law enforcement with investigations.

There are two ways to participate:

The Private Security Camera Rebate Program creates a rebate for residents, businesses, nonprofits, and religious institutions to purchase and install security camera systems on their property and register them with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The program provides a rebate of up to $200 per camera, with a maximum rebate of up to $500 per residential address (e.g., home offices, condo buildings, and apartments) and $750 for all other eligible addresses. The rebate is exclusively for the cost of the camera(s) including any applicable tax.

The Private Security Camera Voucher Program provides a private security camera system to eligible residents free of charge. District residents—either owners or tenants—who receive public assistance may be eligible to have a camera system installed at their home.
