7) Tree box maintenance - we need your help to keep them looking great

The tree boxes throughout the commercial corridors were all weeded and mulched this past week. Also the tree boxes along Columbia Road received a little extra attention since they weren't refurbished as part of the 18th Street Streetscape project a couple years ago.

Please help our clean team:

1) Keep the tree boxes free of debris and dog waste

2) Water the tree boxes in front of your business if they look dry, especially as we go into the hot summer months. We need to keep the trees and plants

alive.

The Steering Committee of the Small Business Policy Project (SBPP) invites you to our launch event showcasing DCsmallBizlLoans.com, a new customized web-based lending platform developed by Biz2Credit, Inc. for the SBPP of the Coalition of Housing and Economic Development (CNHED).

This tool responds to a recommendation made by the SBPP to increase access to capital for local entrepreneurs and small business owners.

The debut of this new online platform coincides with National Small Business Week (May 4-7, 2015) - a recognition of the value of entrepreneurs and small businesses.

During this session, the DCRA Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) staff will provide one-on-one assistance with navigating through the regulatory process. You will gain in-depth knowledge of registering with corporations (i.e. Limited Liability Company, Corporations, Non-Profit, etc.) and with the basic steps of obtaining a business license. Additionally, you will receive assistance with the zoning application process (i.e. Certificate of Occupancy and or Home Occupancy Permit).This opportunity is geared towards future and current business owners looking to conduct business in the District of Columbia.
