Second Annual AdMo Art Walk starts April 10
|
Think of Adams Morgan as your own personal art gallery thanks to
AdMo Art Walk
, a new way to experience art brought to you by the Adams Morgan Partnership BID, the DC Arts Center, local artists, and neighborhood businesses!
Walk the streets of Adams Morgan and admire an impressive selection of artworks displayed in various storefronts in a self-guided walking tour starting April 10 and continuing through May 14.

April AMPBID Board Meeting
|
The next board meeting of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (AMPBID) will be on Tuesday, April 12 at 5pm via Zoom. In addition to regular business, we will be joined by Kevin Harrison from DDOT to discuss the Columbia Road Bus Priority Project. Topics discussed will include: Progress Update, Needs Assessment Findings, Bus Priority Toolbox, and more. There will be opportunity to ask questions.
This is especially important for Columbia Road businesses.
The board will also elect a new executive committee.

Drag Queen Storytime
this year! Join us monthly starting on Sunday, April 24 for a free children’s story time in Unity Park! We'll be set up in Unity Park on the last Sunday of every month from April through October.
The goal of Drag Queen Storytime is to inspire a love of reading, while teaching deeper lessons on diversity, self-love and an appreciation of others. Visit

Small Diameter Water Main Replacement Project Coming to Adams Morgan
|
As part of its Capital Improvement Program, DC Water is replacing existing 12-inch and smaller cast iron water mains in various locations throughout the city. Construction for this project will occur in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. These efforts will help improve
water quality and system reliability, increase water pressure in some areas, and maintain adequate flows throughout the system. Construction map

Dates Announced for DC Veg Restaurant Week
|
Veg Restaurant Week is coming to DC! From
May 7-14
veg and omni restaurants will come together to celebrate the rich vegan cuisine of the nation’s capital. A range of restaurants will be participating, from fast casual to some of the region’s most respected fine dining.
Several restaurants have already signed up to participate, from fast-casual hotspots Hip City Veg and Shouk to the elegant farm-to-table DC Harvest. Celebrity Chef Spike Mendelsohn's PLNT Burger will be in attendance as well as long time staples such as Adams Morgan’s
sPACYcLOUd Lounge
with their renowned selection of cocktails and foreign beers,
Salvadoran/Mexican hotspot El Tamarindo
with specialty pupusas, and Takoma Park favorite Roscoe’s Pizzeria with their famous vegan mozzarella pizzas. It will also be a chance for locals to try DC newcomers such as BDG’s Ghicken Vegan and DC Vegan.
Restaurants will have a range of ways in which they participate, from prix fixe and new vegan specialty items to discounts and complementary menu items. This is a chance for the public and community leaders to get to know and celebrate their neighborhood’s healthy and planet-friendly dining options while supporting local businesses.

, and restaurants can register until April 22. “With so many great veg friendly and vegan restaurants, people in the District are increasingly choosing plant-forward diets” said Veg Restaurant Week organizer Max Broad. “People are opting out of the factory farming of animals for being environmentally destructive and inhumane, especially with sophisticated whole foods meals and premier plant-based meats and cheeses easily within our fork’s reach.”

To qualify, you should: (1) Self-identify as a Black woman or Black nonbinary entrepreneur; (2) Have a legally registered business; (3) Plan to seek investor financing in order to scale; (4) Have a scalable, high-impact solution or idea with the ambition to be the next billion dollar business. "Backing Small Historic Restaurants” grant program
|
American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation just reopened their “Backing Small Historic Restaurants” grant program, which provides $40,000 to 25 restaurants across the country who fit the program’s criteria. Ben’s Chili Bowl and Chinatown Garden in DC were recipients last year.

From Solopreneur to CEO: Build Your Business as an Emotionally Intelligent Leader

April 11th, 18th, and the 25th; from 11am-1pm EST

Bike To Work Day 2022 Registration is Live
|
The League of American Bicyclists began Bike to Work Day as part of Bike Month in 1956. Over the years, Bike to Work Day has grown into a widespread event with countless bicyclists taking to the streets nationwide in an effort to get commuters to try bicycling to work as a healthy and safe alternative to driving alone. In the Metropolitan Washington region, Bike to Work Day has grown from a small group of a few hundred in 2001 to an all-time high of 18,700 participants in 2017.
The Adams Morgan pit stop will be at Unity Park again this year. Adams Morgan regularly has one of the highest registration rates in the city and we plan on having refreshments and other goodies available to riders in addition to the free t-shirt. We'll be updating you with more information as the event gets closer.
