We recently met Mike Rauta who along with a stellar group of folks at Pivvit are developing a new online tool to help nonprofits fundraise and local businesses keep local customers. www.pivvit.com

Christopher Lynch at L’Enfant Café introduced me to Mike. Christopher and Jim partnered with Sitar Center to be their community partner for Bastille Day. They are committed to giving back into the community and are so excited to have them on board.

Pivvit is launching the tool in July and would love to show it to some favorite Adams Morgan non-profits and businesses.

Update from Pepco on Harvard Conversion Project

Crews are making progress on the Harvard Conversion project.

Over the next two weeks, crews will be installing new conduit on Columbia Rd. between 1720 and 1774 Columbia Rd., NW.

In addition, Pepco says that their efforts to certify the existing underground conduits on Champlain St., NW are complete. Crews did have two locations that additional analysis was needed; however, it has determined that the conduits do not have any locations needing repair.

Therefore, excavation will not be needed for any locations on Champlain St., NW, Pepco will be able to use the existing conduit to pull the new cable once we get to that phase of the project.

As a reminder, the Harvard Conversion project involves increasing capacity of underground feeders from 4kV to 13kV .

To achieve the conversion, new pipes (conduits) must be installed to house the new 13 kV cables.  Next, crews will install the new cable.  Finally, customers will be transitioned from the old feeder to the new feeder.  During this phase of the project, we will construct approximately 4,000 feef of conduit, 11 manholes, and 2 switches. These upgrades will enhance reliability for customers in the area.

Annual Adams Morgan Partnership BID Member Survey

Clarence Myers, our Safety Ambassador, and Annie Heyward, our Summer Intern, have distributed the annual member survey. This survey helps us better provide services to businesses and commercial property owners. This is our annual self-evaluation tool.
