L'Enfant Cafe's Bastille Day celebration - July 14
Greetings Business Neighbors,
It's Jim & Christopher from L'Enfant!
It's that time again, Bastille Day. A time for "
Liberte! Egalite! Insanite!"
As a party that started out of our own boredom inside L'Enfant 8 years ago, has now become a bona-fide annual festival celebrating all things French. The largest Bastille Day party in the city, and rumor has it, the 2nd largest single night outdoor event in DC in July behind the fireworks on the mall.
This year, we do believe there is plenty of business to share around the block and we want you to be able to take advantage of overflow. This is our first year on a Saturday and we are expecting big crowds (4000-6000 people). Many of these people will take shelter in your locations for food and drink at various times in the day/night.
We are reaching out for you to be a part of it rather than just watching it from afar. Let's make this a win/win for the block and all of our businesses!
We would suggest staffing up, and for some, hiring a doorman for crowd control, ID checking, etc.
New this year, we have US AIRWAYS as a sponsor giving 2 roundtrip tickets to Paris! Also, we have celebrity DJ – Lady Miss Kier from the band Deee-Lite
We also welcome
Locolat and AM Wine Shoppe
as food vendors this year.
We'd appreciate your support and wish you tons of good business. If you serve food, note that
our kitchen is closed and there is NO full service dining inside the event
. So perhaps you you can promote that you offer full service dining, if you offer.
***
We would appreciate you emailing your customers
on your lists
***(via whatever format you would normally do for your own events, blast, newsletters, tweets, Facebook, etc.) to come out to the corner and to let them know you are open during the festival. The more people we all can get to Adams Morgan, the more everyone wins.
Here is a link to the Bastille Day Site if you want to put a link in your email. They can also purchase advance tickets that will bring them in before 5pm on this link. So they will stay around the block all night. Perhaps taking food or drink breaks around at your establishments.
Hope to see you all on Saturday.
Kind Regards,
Jim & Christopher
