WRAP’s 2017 Cinco de Mayo SoberRide

WRAP’s 2017 Cinco de Mayo SoberRide campaign is scheduled to run from 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) until 4:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6th, 2017.

The cap for rides has been adjusted from $20 to $15 in order to capture ridership demands and allow for more availability of SoberRide codes. This change stems from the 2017 St. Patrick’s Day SoberRide campaign and which resulted in an 84% increase in ridership.

WRAP’s SoberRide program is one of the nation’s most successful free safe rides programs for would-be impaired drivers. However, prevention is essential for keeping our highways safe during high-risk holidays. If your organization needs an alcohol awareness presentation, WRAP’s Safe And Vital Employees (SAVE) program is available free of cost to you. This 45-minute, customized presentation will inform employees and/or military personnel about the physical, economic and legal consequences of impaired driving.

AMPBID will be distributing SoberRide cards and posters. If you don't recieve any or need extras, contact Brian Barrie at 202-536-9515

Scope of work

  • Installation of approximately 3,000 linear feet of 8-inch water mains

  • Replacement of fire hydrants and valves

Schedule
Construction start : June 2017
Construction completion : 6-8 months
Normal work hours : 9:00 am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Contractor may work at night or on weekends, dependent upon additional construction activities or due to inclement weather.

Important information

If water does not clear, contact the DC Water Drinking Water Division or 24-hr Emergency/Command Center.

Traffic plans
Lane closures may be required daily with approved traffic plans by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). Notifications regarding “No-Parking” zones will be posted 72 hours prior to construction, in certain areas in and around the job site as required by DDOT.

Partners

DC Water is currently working closely with DDOT to ensure minimal disruption during this project. Regular updates will also be provided to the affected Advisory Neighborhood Commissions.
