AMPBID Promotion -- Adams Morgan Date Night

We are working on a new promotion to position Adams Morgan as THE PLACE to go on a date in Washington, D.C. The initiative will run from late January to late March (8 weeks) and including digital advertising, web presence, press outreach and printed materials.

As part of the promotion, we'll be putting together sample date itineraries to inspire people to explore all the possibilities Adams Morgan has to offer. For example, a date might start with coffee at Tryst, continue with dinner at Jack Rose, and end with a late show at Songbyrd.

A Home For the Holidays

The DC Bid Council is working with DC's Interagency Council on Homelessness this year to support their A Home for the Holidays campaign. As a part of that campaign, the DC Department of Human Services (DHS) partnered with the Apartment Building and Office Building Association (AOBA) to accelerate lease-ups from the homeless service system to match 450 individuals and families with housing units between November 15 and January 15.

To help give those families a fresh start, the DC BID Council has created The BID Council Home Sweet Home Registry on Amazon. Items purchased from the registry will be sent directly to the Adams Place Shelter, where staff are organizing and distributing supplies to give to new households.

Winter Weather Best Management Practices for Commercial Buildings

The Department of Energy and Environment will present a winter workshop to help facility managers, building engineers, building maintenance staff prepare for winter weather and comply with snow removal requirements. The workshop will be held January 15, 2019 , 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Think Local First DC is partnering with DC’s Department of Human Services (DHS) to match DC residents with locally owned businesses.

DHS recruits, screens, and matches eligible participants with the job opportunities identified by TLF. We’re working to ensure a successful work experience by providing job readiness training, on-going job coaching, and benefits such as child care and transportation subsidies.

Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings Training

To better prepare the District’s workforce for the detection, identification, and response procedures to Suspicious Packages and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), the District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (DC HSEMA) is hosting an Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings Training on January 30, 2019 at 8 am and 1 pm . The Training will take place at the DC HSEMA offices at 2720 Martin Luther King Junior Ave., SE.
