Do More 24 brings together nonprofit organizations, partners and donors committed to creating impact in our community.
Held on June 8, 2017, Do More 24 is the DMV's largest 24-hour online fundraiser powered by United Way of the National Capital Area. Donors can contribute to any of the more than 700 participating nonprofits to fund programs and services right here in our own community.
Last year, Do More 24 raised more than $1.55 million, which allowed nonprofit organizations to fill holes in their budget, buy desperately needed new equipment and serve more people in need across our region.
Below are five neighborhood nonprofits participating in Do More 24 this year:

Sitar Center
Your support on this Day of Giving can make all the difference for a teen like Devon. Devon comes to Sitar from Hope and a Home, a family crisis shelter that provides transitional housing here in DC.
Too often children and teens in transitional housing face instability, fear, and a lack of opportunity. A summer at Sitar means a safe, secure, and loving community for teens like Devon. Your gift can help youth like Devon reach their fullest potential. This summer, Devon will work as a Summer Intern. He’ll earn much more than a paycheck – he’ll gain a sense of belonging and essential life skills to put him on a path towards success.
Reaching the most vulnerable children and families is always at the heart of Sitar Arts Center’s mission.
Thank you for believing in young people like Devon and for investing in his future.

Joseph's House
Please consider a donation this Thursday, June 8, as part of our annual Do More 24 day of giving.
After three years of planning, design, and construction, the new Joseph's House healing garden is coming to life just as spring awakens.
For the first time in our history, our garden is accessible to everyone who lives, works, and visits here. And not just accessible, our garden is open and welcoming, with wide paths and easy to use seating.
We have spots for reflection, conversation, and gathering. The warmth and healing that so many find within the walls of
Joseph’s House
, now fill our garden as well.
Our Terrace of Remembrance is a place to honor and remember those who have lived and died at Joseph’s House.
This garden means so much to us because it brings to life our deeply held values of welcome, serenity and beauty
Like many construction projects, the healing garden took longer than we planned and it included some unexpected costs. Of course, the need for resources to keep the house running and our residents well cared for continued throughout the construction process.
Please donate this Thursday. Help us growlove!
Christ House
How to participate:
Spread the word. We've asked patients to share what they want others to know about Christ House (see a preview below!) and posted their photos to our Facebook page. Please share a post and tell your friends why YOU are supporting Christ House for #DoMore24. (Not on Facebook? You can also forward this email and add your personal note!)
Donate.
Last year, we raised $2,270! Those funds put fuel in our patient transport van, bought medical supplies, and brought in fresh produce for patients' meals.
This year, we're hoping to reach $3,000 in 24 hours! As of 1:00 pm today, we've received $624. We only need 99 people to give $24 or 50 people to give $48 to reach our goal. Even small gifts make a big difference.
Power the work of Christ House with a donation on our
Do More 24 page
.
Thank you for joining us during this special week and for all of the ways that you show your love to our community!
