The community is invited to help us light up the neighborhood as we unveil and light our interactive holiday display underneath a snow-filled sky. The event will take place in the plaza at the corner of Columbia & Adams Mill Roads NW with live music from local cover band
Gotcha Covered
and a special appearance from
The Grinch
while snow falls from the sky throughout the event. Complimentary hot chocolate and cider will also be available on a first come first serve basis.
The fun doesn’t stop there. It will snow with some winter wonderland magic from Foamboree on Thursday December 5th and 12th for families looking to make some special memories and enjoy some time together. Family Friendly. Free. Open to the public. More info is available on our

Meet our Adams Morgan Safety Ambassadors
|
The Adams Morgan Partnership has four Safety Ambassadors who patrol the neighborhood, providing a presence on the street seven days a week. The team is on duty between noon - 11pm most days and can be found patrolling the neighborhood, checking in on businesses, doing outreach with people experiencing homelessness, reporting public space issues to the appropriate agencies, assisting tourists, and helping out in whatever ways they can.
The safety team can be reached by calling or texting 202-315-9069, but always call 911 first if there's an emergency.

We've added dedicated bins for Pizza Boxes!
|
We've deployed a new tool in our ongoing quest to minimize the trash that makes its way onto the streets and sidewalks of Adams Morgan. Today we installed two new bins designed to accommodate pizza boxes. The boxes are too large to fit in the existing trash cans on the street and folding them to force them in can create a different problem by filling the cans and making it harder to fit other waste in them. The new bins will be emptied every morning and are both located on 18th Street -- one between Andy's Pizza and Pizza Mart and the other next to Jumbo Slice where Belmont Rd. intersects with 18th Street.

PSC Special Hearing Extended to Thursday, December 5
|
The Public Space Committee (PSC) has pushed back the upcoming special
hearing to review the streatery guidelines
from Thursday, November 14th to
Thursday, December 5th
. This extension was made to accommodate the request from ANCs to have more time to review the guidelines and pass formal resolutions on this topic.
This extension will allow you more time to submit comments prior to the upcoming hearing. All comments may be sent to the PSC Secretary, Courtney Williams at
Courtney.williams@dc.gov
. You may also attend the virtual hearing to provide oral comments.
Adams Morgan businesses with streateries are strongly encouraged to submit comments and/or attend the meeting in person.

Big news this week for the District's restaurants, bars, and event stages!
After decades of bearing some of the most expensive liquor liability insurance in the county, the Insurance Services Office just announced they’ve halved the District’s insurance score from a (second worst in the nation)
9 down to a 5
.

What This Means for You:
First, lower premiums from the few insurance carriers that offer coverage in the District. But real savings come down the line, when our improved score results in more carriers writing policies in the District, ultimately leading to more competitive rates.

Insurance reform headlined RAMW’s 2023 and 2024 legislative agendas. Working closely with our partners at the
DC Nightlife Council
, we worked relentlessly to make these reforms reality, culminating in March's passage of the

|
The
FY25 ReFashion Pitch Competition
is an opportunity for businesses to pitch a problem or opportunity in the sustainable fashion market with a viable solution. Pitch award will range between $2,500 to $6,000 per winner and will be held during National Small Business Week in May 2025.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for this funding opportunity:

Must be a DC-based business entity organized in the District as a for-profit entity with an active business license issued by the DC Department of License and Consumer Protection (DLCP);

Hold a current and compliant Clean Hands Certification issued from the DC Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR);
-
DC resident;

Hold a FEIN for the business applying for the competition
-
Must be able to participate in person at the pitch competition during Small Business Week May 2025.

Must outline a problem or opportunity in the sustainable fashion market and how the business service or product provides a viable solution in this space.
