AMPBID Board meeting - July 9th - 5 PM
The next meeting of the AMPBID Board of Directors is Tuesday July 9th at 5 pm at the MPD Third District Headquarters - 1620 V Street, NW in the Snyder Conference room on the first floor.
Angelo Rao and his colleagues at DDOT, Including Eulois Cleckley, will return to update us on curbside metered parking, changes coming to the commercial loading zones and other parking related issues per our earlier meetings. Councilmember Jim Graham has confirmed his attendance for this important conversation as well.
We will also conclude our conversation about the FY2014 AMPBID budget and hopefully vote on the same.

Annual Adams Morgan Partnership BID Member Survey
Clarence Myers, our Safety Ambassador and Renae Peden, our summer intern, distributed the annual member survey last week and early this week. This survey will help us to better provide services to businesses and property owners. This is our self-evaluation tool.
Please take a few minutes to fill it out and either fax it back to 202-234-1860, mail it to Adams Morgan Partnership, PO Box 21507, Washington, DC 20009 or give to Clarence or Renae.

Welcome to three new restaurants in Adams Morgan
Diva NYNY has recently opened at 2406 18th Street, NW (formerly Sutra Lounge and Viet Thai Restaurant). Fahim Kaiser and his staff look forward to welcoming the neighborhood to try their Pakistani delights including karahi woks, biryani, kabobs and curry side dishes. Their phone number is 202-332-DIVA.
Meat in a Box and Did Someone Say Pizza (formerly Absolute Pizza and Kebob) has signed a lease and should be opened at 2005 18th Street, NW within a couple weeks. The Falls Church kebab house "Meat in a Box" is expanding to Adams Morgan. They serve chicken, salmon and beef kebobs as well as falafel and a limited number of specials, such as lentil soup. They will start out open during the evenings on weekdays and for lunch and dinner on the weekends.
Mediterranean Spot at 2421 18th Street, NW (formerly Caribou Coffee and more recently Uptowner Cafe) is just about ready to open. Mohammed Rashed also owns the Mediterranean Spot at 15th and U St (formerly 24/Seven located at 14th and U).

Indie Adams Morgan - Songwriters and Poets - final week schedule
The 5 Week-long “Songwriters and Poets Series” is in its final week. If you haven't caught one of their performances yet...this has been a Celebration of Local Art, Music and Spoken Word in the Adams Morgan Neighborhood. Long known as the cradle of creative culture in the District of Columbia, Indie Adams Morgan has focused on reviving the traditions of Adams Morgan and amplifing attention for the multitude of Indie Artists less heard.
Indie Adams Morgan is a Collective of Bloggers, Artists, Supporters and Music Enthusiasts who believe in the broad and rich Indie Art and Music Culture that flows beneath the surface of ma
in stream Washington DC. A culture that is supported by word of mouth, social networking and a fabric of local support. These artists and their work are typically found in the cafes and coffee shops, community art centers, house shows and local bars of neighborhoods in and around DC.
Following a successful first year with twice weekly performances over six weeks in May and June of 2012 at The Black Squirrel, Indie Adams Morgan has almost completed an expanded program during 2013. With a goal of three and four nights of performances each week over five weeks in multiple venues including The Black Squirrel, they will have featured over 100 performances making this one of the largest combined Artist, Songwriter, Indie Band and Spoken Word Series in the US.
