AdMo Vibe features The Montaines in Kalorama Park on Thursday!
|
Note:
this concert was originally scheduled for August 14 but was canceled because of the weather.
The AdMo Vibe Summer Concert Series brings neighbors together to enjoy local music and energize our public spaces. Following the initial kick-off, each Thursday concert will feature a different D.C.-based artist performing in Kalorama Park on Columbia Road at Belmont Road.
More than a dozen Adams Morgan businesses will be offering specials before, during, and after the concerts.

Upcoming 2025 AdMo Vibe Schedule:
Concerts run from 6:00- 7:30 PM and are free and open to all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring a takeout dinner to the park from neighborhood restaurants and explore all that Adams Morgan has to offer before and after the concert —from vibrant outdoor dining spaces and global cuisine to colorful boutiques and locally owned shops.

Champlain Street Substation Project Update

Pepco is in the early stages of a multi-year project to upgrade the Champlain Street Substation that was built in 1930. The project is expected to be completed by December 2028. For more information there is a flyer available for download

Update: Federal Action in the District
RAMW continues monitoring federal activities in the District, maintaining close coordination with Mayor Muriel Bowser's administration and the DC Council as the situation evolves.

Latest Developments:
Mayor Bowser today held a situational update, noting that during the 20 days of the federal operation, violent crimes including homicides, gun crimes, and carjackings have declined.

Mayor’s Concerns:
The Mayor also took issue with the presence of masked ICE agents and more than 1,000 out-of-state National Guard troops
deployed to the District
.

Federal Law Enforcement Presence:
In addition to the National Guard, federal law enforcement agencies including the FBI, DEA, ATF, ICE, Border Patrol, and Homeland Security Investigations have been conducting 24-hour patrols, vehicle checkpoints, and maintaining a highly visible presence in certain areas of the city.

Enforcement Activity:
Operations have resulted in more than
1,000 arrests
since August 7th. However, a full picture of who has been arrested, where, and for what is unclear.

Immigration Enforcement:

Extended alcohol service is available for DC's annual overnight arts festival September 12 to 14.

On-premises retailers, manufacturers with on-site sales and consumption permits, and temporary license holders.

Sign-up by Sep. 9 with $100 fee. Previous Art All Night or Extended Holiday Hours registrations don't carry over.

Events DC Walking Town
returns this September! The guided walking and biking tours will take place from Saturday, September 13 through Saturday, September 20 and will once again Explore DC: 8 Days, 8 Wards, 1 City!
Over the past 26 years, WalkingTown has attracted thousands of curious people to participate in numerous tours across the District of Columbia. We invite you to meet them by providing a tour during WalkingTown 2025.
Events DC will promote the program and individual tours as well as provide you with a volunteer assistant, staff support and a list of registered participants. Whether you’re a licensed tour guide, neighborhood historian or enthusiastic storyteller, WalkingTown is a fantastic way to promote your business, your neighborhood, your community or your business. They expect tour guides/ride leaders to:

offer tours of 60, 90 or 120 minutes,
-
register their tour on this form

work with the assigned volunteer to ensure the safety of the tour participants,

participate in an orientation hosted by Events DC on Monday, September 8 at 12:00 pm (Zoom) or 6:00 pm (in-person),

The Department of Employment Services (DOES) Office of Wage-Hour invites you to the Inaugural Wage-Theft Awareness Conference. This event will provide valuable information on the District’s wage law requirements, along with government resources and strategies to help businesses ensure compliance.

Seeking Nominations for Outstanding Community Leaders
|
Robert “Bob” Pohlman served as The Coalition’s Executive Director from 2000–2014, and was a beloved figure in the community development field, as well as a great friend, mentor, and colleague to so many of us. Bob passed away in Spring of 2018. In light of his legacy, The Coalition created the “Bob Pohlman Lifetime Achievement in Community Development Award.” This award is awarded annually to an outstanding local leader with at least 20 years of consistent service and leadership in the District of Columbia’s community development field.
