April AMPBID Board Meeting
|
The next board meeting of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (AMPBID) will be on Tuesday, April 11 at 5pm via Zoom. In addition to regular business the board will elect the executive committee and vote to approve the FY2022 Audit. There will also be an update on the status of the Adams Morgan Pedestrian Zone.

The DC Arts Center
, local artists, and neighborhood businesses! Walk the streets of Adams Morgan and admire an impressive selection of artwork displayed in various storefronts in a self-guided walking tour starting
April 3 through April 30
. Each participating local artist has a variety of artwork on display in an Adams Morgan business. Thanks to overwhelming support from the community since the event’s initial launch in 2020, it has continued to grow with increased participation from local businesses and artists.

Fundraising Event for Joseph's House
|
Joseph's House DC will proudly celebrate 33 years of providing and coordinating holistic care for homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS, and cancer at Shepherding Hope, a Fundraising Event. Joseph's House supports each individual by honoring dignity, offering companionship, and promoting justice. This event will take place on May 11, 2023 from 6-8pm, at The Generator Hotel in Washington, DC. Shepherding Hope will provide a unique opportunity for Joseph’s House to connect with community leaders, partners and supporters, and a network of volunteers to celebrate their collective work bridging the wide disparities of care for the vulnerable individuals they serve. Bike to Work Day is on May 19 -- Registration is Open!
|
The League of American Bicyclists began Bike to Work Day as part of Bike Month in 1956. Over the years, Bike to Work Day has grown into a widespread event with countless bicyclists taking to the streets nationwide in an effort to get commuters to try bicycling to work as a healthy and safe alternative to driving alone. In the Metropolitan Washington region, Bike to Work Day has grown from a small group of a few hundred in 2001 to an all-time high of 18,700 participants in 2017.
The
Adams Morgan pit stop will be at Unity Park
again this year. Adams Morgan regularly has one of the highest registration rates in the city and we plan on having refreshments and other goodies available to riders in addition to the free t-shirt. We'll be updating you with more information as the event gets closer.

is now open.
On March 20, 2023, applications will open for 350 small business grants of $5,000 to eligible businesses in the U.S. and territories.
Applications close on April 7, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. CT.

💸 Robust Retail 2023 Grant (DSLBD)
The 2023 Robust Retail Citywide grant(s) support existing DC-based retail businesses in maintaining operations and viability during the current small business crisis. DSLBD intends to award up to $5,000 per business to approximately 100 businesses from the $500,000 in available funding for the Fiscal Year 2023.

💸 Commercial Property Acquisition Fund (DMPED)
The Commercial Property Acquisition Fund will provide eligible businesses with down payment assistance of up to $750,000 or 25% of the sale price, whichever is less, for the acquisition of commercial property in the District. This year, businesses will need to complete three mandatory sessions in order to apply for the Fund. OPEN now on a rolling basis until funds are expended.
