'Adams Morgan Date Nights' Continues Through The End of March!

Adams Morgan is THE best place to go on a date in DC, whether you’re a mom and daughter out for ice cream, a first date, or a married couple celebrating a double-digit anniversary.

Until the end of March, we'll be showing off the multitude of dating possibilities our neighborhood has to offer, giving away fabulous complete dates including dinner, drinks, and even a night at The LINE Hotel DC . And even if you don't win, you can still plan the best date ever with promotions and discounts at some of the best restaurants, bars, and shops DC has to offer.

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Returns on March 9

The race routes have changed since last year, but the runners will still be coming down Calvert Street from the Ellington Bridge and turning left onto eastbound Columbia Road. Complete course and race info is available on their website .

The Metropolitan Police Department will be enforcing no parking on the entire race route. Cars will be ticketed and towed starting at midnight on March 8th. Residents are advised to move their cars to another location.

City Paper "Best of DC" Poll is almost closed!

The Washington City Paper's annual "Best of DC" Poll is open and will be accepting votes through the beginning of March. Please take a few minutes to go to the poll and support your favorite Adams Morgan businesses.

Voting closes at midnight Sunday!

Free Rides on the DC Circulator Extended Through March 31

The DC Circulator bus is free for all users through the end of March, so you're free to hop on and off as much as you want. The Adams Morgan route makes four stops in the neighborhood, and runs until 3:30am on Friday and Saturday nights, with service until midnight the rest of the week. The Adams Morgan stops include:

The north and south side of the Columbia Road/Ontario Road intersection,
Adams Mill Road in front of BB&T Bank, and
South side of Calvert Street, where it meets Adams Mill Road, just before the traffic light.

SoberRide for St. Patrick's Day

WRAP’s 2019 St. Patrick’s Day SoberRide campaign is scheduled to run from 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) until 4:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2019.

AMPBID will be distributing SoberRide cards and posters to ABRA establishments during the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day.

Apply for a Trash Compactor Grant

Grants up to $80,000 for demonstration projects to help DC Businesses purchase/lease and install commercial waste compactor to install trash compactors, which will minimize sanitation and rodent issues in the District’s commercial corridors. Priority is given to adjacent or nearby businesses that each apply and coordinate their efforts. Application deadline is April 21.

Information Session on Implementation of Paid Family Leave

Beginning on July 1, 2019, the District will begin the collection of a new payroll tax from employers. The tax will be a 0.62% assessment based on the wages paid to employees and will be used to support the newly created and District-run Paid Family Leave program.

Join the DC Chamber to hear from DOES Director Unique Morris-Hughes on March 22, 2019, to learn more about the universal paid leave tax implementation and the Director's overall priorities for the agency.

Host a DC High School Hospitality Student This Summer

Highly qualified high school students are matched with exceptional internship opportunities at your business in their career fields of interest including: Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, Business, Special Events, IT, and Engineering. Destination DC supports this program through the American Experience Foundation, their affiliated 501(c)(3) charity.

Interns work 20-25 hours per week at your business or event site. You set the schedule that works for you and the student. There is no expense to you. Interns are paid by the DC Department of Employment Services. Host employers may participate in the interview process and are matched with students based on their course of study and career interests.

Extended Hours for Daylight Savings Time and DC Emancipation Day

Spring Daylight Saving Time will cause the clock to spring forward one hour from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, March 10. This will result in the loss of one hour, making that Sunday a 23-hour day. Because of this, District law allows on-premises establishments that normally close at 3 a.m. to operate until 4 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, March 10. This includes restaurants, taverns, nightclubs, hotels and multipurpose facilities. Licensees are not required to register in the Holiday Extended Hours program to participate in Spring Daylight Saving Time. Licensees that have a settlement agreement or an Alcoholic Beverage Control Board order limiting hours of operations are prohibited from participating.

Additionally, licensees enrolled in the Holiday Extended Hours program are eligible to operate with extended hours on April 16, 2019, DC Emancipation Day holiday. Those enrolled can stay open the night of Monday, April 15 until 4 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, April 16. Licensees interested in participating must apply for extended hours by Friday, March 15, 2019.

It's Almost Cherry Blossom Time!

It's almost time for the 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival (March 20 - April 14). The Adams Morgan Partnership will be decorating the neighborhood again this year with cherry blossom decals, but if you want to dress up your storefront, now is the time to order some for yourself.
