The 5th Annual Adams Morgan PorchFest was huge!

Big thanks to all of the performers, all the hosts, our sponsors ( Lyft , Spin , Lars Etzkorn Law PLLC , Cultural Tourism DC , DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities ), and especially to all of you who came out to support one of DC's best and biggest local music events. We can't wait until next year.

Also, congratulations to DC Envoys for winning the "Best Band of PorchFest" competition along with a coveted spot at next year's Adams Morgan Free Summer Concert Series. We'd also like to give a big shout out to Christina Davidson who produced the event this year and helped us up the count to 44 bands on 16 porches, making this the biggest PorchFest we've ever done!

Apple Festival and Pie Contest set for October 28

Join us at the Adams Morgan Farmers Market on October 28th from 10:30am - 1:00pm in SunTrust Plaza at the corner of 18th St. and Columbia Rd. for our annual Apple Festival featuring the ever-popular pie contest.

Benefits from the sale of apple pie slices will benefit Joseph's House .

Enter the Apple Pie Baking Contest!

Show off your apple pie baking skills by competing against your neighbors; and if that's not enough motivation, the farmers market will provide free apples for contestants to use in their pies. We'll have a panel of local celebrities judging, and the winners (there will be winners in four categories) will each receive a 2-week CSA membership.

Adams Morgan Farmers Market on Saturday

The market is open on Saturdays through December 23 at 18th Street and Columbia Road, 8:00am - 1:00pm, rain or shine, featuring the Licking Creek Bend Farm, Star Hollow Farm, Remi's Flowers and Plants, Girardot's Crumbs Bakery, and Groff's Content Farm (meats and cheeses).

Fake $50 bills spotted in Adams Morgan

Head’s up.  A man came into my shop – The Printer – at about 3:10 this afternoon asking to buy a ream of paper.  He paid with a fake $50.  The only other time someone tried to buy a ream of paper with me I was paid with a fake $50, so this time I was ready.  So, just be alert for folks in the neighborhood paying for small purchases with big bills – make sure the money is good!  Wendy

WRAP's 2017 Halloween SoberRide Campaign

WRAP’s 2017 Halloween SoberRide campaign is scheduled to run from 10:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28th until 4:00 a.m. Sunday, October 29th, 2017.

WRAP’s SoberRide program is one of the nation’s most successful free safe rides programs for potentially impaired drivers. However, prevention is essential for keeping our highways safe during high-risk holidays. If your organization needs an alcohol awareness presentation, WRAP’s Safe And Vital Employees (SAVE) program is available free of cost to you. This 45-minute, customized presentation will inform employees and/or military personnel about the physical, economic and legal consequences of impaired driving.
