Save the Date for Adams Morgan Day 2019:

As Washington DC’s longest running neighborhood festival, Adams Morgan Day celebrated 40 years in 2018 and the planning has begun for the 41st in 2019! Adams Morgan Day is a family-friendly celebration with music, art, and activities for all ages. Attendance and entertainment are free, and local businesses and restaurants offer great deals for visitors and residents to enjoy.

Adams Morgan PorchFest returns on October 5!

DC's most creative music festival returns this fall with dozens of local bands. On Saturday, October 5 , we'll turn over a dozen porches and stoops into stages for the day for Adams Morgan PorchFest . In 2018, we hosted 57 performances on 16 stages, and we're already working on bringing back your favorite bands. See you there!

Small Business Commercial Corridor Survey

The Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED) and the DC BID Council are conducting an online survey to develop a better understanding of the key issues, needs and concerns impacting the business corridors in the District. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey will close on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Litter? Not in My DC!

As part of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s “Back to Basics” strategy to keep the District looking its best, the DC Department of Public Works (DPW) recently unveiled its new “Not in My DC” litter prevention campaign. The campaign includes ads on Metro trains, buses and bus shelters featuring notable District residents and business owners. It will also include an enforcement blitz.

Be on the lookout for new “No Litter” and “No Dumping” street signs. Encourage your neighbors to keep streets and sidewalks clean by requesting a free, “Please Be A Good Neighbor. Don’t Litter” sign for your yard. Tackling litter is going to be tough, but with your help we can trash this bad habit. Observable grievances with threats and plans of retribution.

Appropriate Intervention

Help ensure the safety of you and your colleagues by:

Being aware of drastic changes in attitude toward others.
Taking note of any escalations in behavior.
Providing any information that may help facilitate intervention and mitigate potential risks.

Concerned? Witnessed disturbing behavior?

Contact your supervisor or your human resources department to alert

them of potential dangers and enable them to mitigate any emerging risks.

ABRA's ID Compliance Training

The Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) provides annual ID Compliance Training for ABC licensees and their staff. Training reviews:

Preventing sales of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated persons
Techniques for properly verifying IDs
Tips for spotting fake IDs
Information on ABRA compliance checks
