Celebrating 10 Years with Kristen Barden

The Adams Morgan Partnership celebrated 10 years of leadership from executive director Kristen Barden at its annual meeting at Roofer's Union this morning. "Thank you for everything you've done for us and what you've meant to this community," said Steve Greenleigh , former co-president of the board for 12 years. The Partnership celebrated a stellar year in which 35,000 people attended the organization's events in the neighborhood, crime statistics continue to drop, and a new brand was launched. The event was attended by Brianne Nadeau , representatives from Metropolitan Police Department , and awards were given to the Partnership's hardworking Clean Team members.

Apple Festival on Saturday, October 27

Sustainable Commute Challenge Panel Oct. 11

Are you interested in smarter, more sustainable commuting? DC has set a goal in its sustainability plan for 25% of trips to happen by walk and bike (and scooter?). To help businesses prepare for the financial effects of disasters, the District’s Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking and the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency are hosting the Disaster Insurance and Preparedness Seminar on Monday, October 15th from 4 pm – 6 pm The seminar will help businesses better understand the coverage they currently have, the types of coverage available, and the insurance claims process that follows a disrupting event to their business. The Deputy Mayor's Office of Planning & Economic Development has posted the FY19 Great Streets Grant Application, which provides up to $50,000 for interior, exterior and equipment improvements, and marketing for eligible businesses. Commercial Compactor Demonstration Grant Program

Grants up to $80,000 for demonstration projects to help DC Businesses purchase/lease and install commercial waste compactor to install trash compactors, which will minimize sanitation and rodent issues in the District’s commercial corridors.
