At the March 8th, 2016 AMPBID Board meeting at 5 pm at the Festival Center

at 1640 Columbia Road, NW, the board will be voting on the proposed 5 Year

Business Plan that if approved by the board will be sent to the Mayor and

request that the Adams Morgan Partnership BID be reauthorized for another

The Mayor, upon receiving our plan and request, will then issue

a notice of preliminary finding and then will schedule a public hearing. The

(commercial property owners and business owners) on February 26th. If you

didn't receive your copy, please contact Kristen at 202-997-0783 or by

email at Kbarden@adamsmorganonline.org and she will send you another

copy. If you would like a PDF of the business plan, please also ask Kristen.

If BID members have comments on the plan, those should be given to a

voting board member before the March 8th meeting. BID members and the

public are welcome to attend the board meeting on March 8th.

2020’s Marketing Assistant Steve Gustafson said, “We’re extremely excited to be in Adams Morgan! The sense of community and vibrant atmosphere were a huge factor in bringing 2020 Restaurant and Lounge here. Our focus will be to provide superior service mixed with exquisite menu items and be a place where friends can come to socialize in an inviting environment." Chef Matamoros added, "Over the past decade, the concept of small plates has expanded from a curiosity to a strong trend that is currently spreading. Small plates are shareable portions that give customers a change to sample more menu items and gives Chefs more culinary freedom. Grazing and plate sharing are becoming increasingly popular over traditional meal structures."

6) Cherry Blossom Festival advertising possibilities

The 2016 National Cherry Blossom Festival, held March 20 – April 17, will illuminate the region in pink this spring through the City in Bloom campaign.

City in Bloom, now in its fifth year, allows businesses, organizations, and individuals to showcase spring and visually unite and energize the DC metro area for over 1.5 million people throughout the National Cherry Blossom Festival.  Iconic buildings, retailers, public transportation entities, and more showcase the start of spring with pink lighting and blossom decals, welcoming attendees with the energy and vibrancy of the nation’s greatest springtime celebration.

We hope that you will participate in City in Bloom this year. WE (THE ADAMS MORGAN PARTNERSHIP) are purchasing small and large blossom decals and will pass those out to all our businesses. Also available for purchase are pink LED outdoor string lights, a great way to brighten your patio and outdoor spaces with a splash of cherry blossom this spring!

WE (AMPBID) are also collecting a list of businesses that are doing something special during the Cherry Blossom Festival. It could be a cherry cocktail, a cherry dessert, everything pink in the store is 20% off, or anything else you think would be fun with the cherry blossom theme. Please send Nathan Ackerman your cherry theme item by MARCH 9TH and we will combine all of those into a press release -send to nathan@18thstreetmedia.com

The Festival is pleased to list retail package supporters as participants in City in Bloom on their website (1.9 million visits from 1.3 million unique visitors).  After we distibute the decals - PLEASE SEND THE FESTIVAL a picture of your decal decorations and they might even feature your business as part of their social media outreach!

For more information about how to get involved, please visit the website National Cherry Blossom Festival .  With your support, together we will make the 2016 National Cherry Blossom Festival the nation’s greatest springtime celebration .

ABRA starting Saturday hours to accomodate license renewals

It's time for all District restaurant, hotel, multipurpose facility, club and caterer licensees to renew alcoholic beverage licenses.

License renewals may only be done in person at the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration's (ABRA) office. In an effort to better accommodate businesses, ABRA's office will be open to process renewals every Saturday during the month of March beginning this weekend.

Saturday hours and regular office hours are as follows:

9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 12, 19 and 26 from

8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday

at

2000 14th Street, NW, 4th Floor, Suite 400 South, Washington DC 20009

Licensees are encouraged to visit ABRA's office as soon as possible to complete license renewals. By doing so, licensees will avoid long lines and wait times at the end of the month.

A renewal application not returned by deadline will be subject to a late fee of $50 per day—not to exceed the cost of the license—and cancellation. All restaurants, hotels, multipurpose facilities, clubs, marine vessels, trains and caterers in the District are to renew alcoholic beverage licenses no later than Thursday, March 31, 2016.

Complete renewal details are available on ABRA's website . Licensees that have questions about renewals can contact ABRA's Licensing Division by emailing or calling (202) 442-4423.
