4) Reminder about validation program at Colonial Parking garage (off of 18th Street) and notice about new rates on Friday and Saturday nights
In March 2010, we announced a new partnership with Colonial Parking that brought reduced price, validated garage parking for day-time customers in Adams Morgan.
Everyone can park in the Colonial Parking garage (access is from 18th Street, NW on the east side just north of Belmont Road, NW) for up to 4 hours for only $8.00 (2 hours is $4.00).
With a FREE validation card from any business in Adams Morgan - no purchase necessary - you can park for up to 4 hours for only $8.00. You take the ticket from the garage, the business owner will give you a validation card and you return to the garage and insert the validation card and pay only $8.00 for up to 4 hours! The parking meters charge the same amount but parking in the garage is easier than driving around looking for an available space!
This deal is available until 5 PM, every day of the week. You must be out of the garage by 5 PM when regular rates will apply. Also the validation is only good for UP to 4 hours, any fraction thereafter, whether before 5pm or not, will incur the maximum fee.
Please contact Yesuf Sultan at Colonial Parking to get validation cards if you haven't already -
ysultan@ecolonial.com
or call 202-557-1411.
The previous discounted parking of 1-2 hours for $4.00 is also still available with validation, 7 days a week.

Only the Max rate has changed.
1st hour- $12.00
Max - $23.00
Alll other rates including the validation program stay the same.

About
I Am Beginning to See the Light
MACKINNON states that "Painting for me is a way of thinking...an open-ended sort of intuitive tinkering and discovery. Each day I come into the studio feeling different. I often leave notes from the end of the previous day as a clue of how to proceed. But since then, a lot has happened. I feel different...Sleep, dreams, what I have seen on my drive to work or along the coast, and my feelings all creep into my artwork. I try to bring this new version of myself into the next phase of the painting...that "quick thinking" which draws on everything you have seen and felt and read and looked at in a lifetime. In the end, all of my paintings are self portraits."
