Valentine's Day Storefront Decorating Contest Winners

Thank you to all 21 Adams Morgan businesses that participated in this year's contest! We had some amazing entries, but unfortunately we could only give out three prizes. This year's winners:

The Return of Adams Morgan Date Nights!

Love is in the air in Adams Morgan, whether you’re looking to impress a first date, take your family out for a night on the town, or want to celebrate the "Galentine" in your life - Adams Morgan is the perfect place to show that someone special just how much you care.


Throughout February and March, Adams Morgan restaurants and retailers will provide date ideas for every kind of relationship and occasion.

Save the Date! Adams Morgan Partnership Annual Meeting

The Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 8 at 5pm.

 We will have elections for 5 positions on the Board of Directors (3 property owners and 2 business owners). The ballot will also include a vote on revisions to the AMPBID bylaws. The revised bylaws were mailed last week along with the ballots. If you haven't received your ballot by Friday, please contact Brian Barrie for assistance . Voting will start at noon on Friday, February 11 and will conclude at 6:30pm March 8 (during the annual meeting). Voting will be conducted online and the results will be announced at the end of the meeting.

Candidates for property owner seats (3 available, listed in alphabetical order) are:

Free mural by world-renowned artist Ron English

Here's an exciting opportunity for a property owner and for the neighborhood to get a free Ron English mural!

Ron English , “The Godfather of Street Art” will be featuring a documentary film ' Living in Delusionville ' at the DC Independent Film Festival on March 4 at Landmark's E Street Cinema at 7:30pm. In addition to screening the film, the artist would like to donate a mural to be painted on a wall in Adams Morgan.

Now Open: Bridge Fund Application:

$40 Million Fund to Assist Businesses

The $40 million Bridge Fund will offer grants to support the recovery and long-term viability of brick-and-mortar small businesses in the restaurant, retail, and entertainment industries that have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.


Award

Awards will range from $20,000-$100,000. This program will prioritize businesses that have not received federal relief funds (Paycheck Protection Program) and microbusinesses with $2.5 million or less in revenue.

Opened:  Monday, January 24, 2022 at 12:00 PM/EST

Deadline: Friday, February 25, 2022 at 5:00 PM/EST

Important: If you need help with your application, please reach out to one of the 14 small business technical assistance (SBTA) providers here . Many of them are funded by DC government to help support you so their fees are subsidized.

The Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED) is renaming February to "Black Futures Month," a celebration of up-and-coming Black leaders, experts, and professionals, in honor of Black History Month.


Join us and a panel of young Black leaders as they share their career adventures, challenges, and goals at our inaugural "Black Futures Month" event. Panelists will discuss how we can move ahead together and the steps we need to take to continue to make space at the table for rising Black leaders as society begins to focus on elevating, empowering, and supporting the next generation of young and Black leaders.

The District Sustainability Awards highlight businesses, individuals, and organizations that are working towards a more sustainable DC. Awardees’ projects and programs support the Mayor’s Sustainable DC Plan , which aims to make the District the nation’s greenest, healthiest, most sustainable city.
