NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND PRELIMINARY FINDING
ON THE RECERTIFICATION OF THE ADAMS MORGAN PARTNERSHIP BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 19 of the Business Improvement Districts Act of 1996, effective May 29, 1996 (D.C. Law 11-134; D.C. Official Code § 2-1215.18) (“Act”), the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) will hold a public hearing on the recertification of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District.
The public hearing will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 21, 2021 in Suite 850N, 441 4th Street NW, Washington, D.C.
DSLBD Director Kristi Whitfield has informed the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District that the filing criteria set forth in D.C. Official Code § 2-1215.18 have been met and their application is otherwise in conformity with the Act.
The BID application is available for review by the public during normal business hours on weekdays at 1640 Columbia Road, N.W., in the offices of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District; and by the public online

Cherry Blossom Season is Here!
|
The Adams Morgan Partnership BID is excited to partner with the
National Cherry Blossom Festival
and host a one-of-a-kind, giant cherry blossom sculpture in Adams Morgan! The five foot tall, 1,200 pound sculpture is called “Community Grid” is now located in BB&T Plaza at 1801 Adams Mill Rd NW. The sculpture was designed by local artists My Ly (
@mylydesign
) and Jaclyn Stallard (
@jstallard
). It's one of 26 sculptures that will be installed throughout DC, Virginia, and Maryland as part of
Art in Bloom
, a public art exhibition in celebration of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
We encourage you to go on a “Blossom Hunt” - starting in Adams Morgan and making your way around DC to find each sculpture. In addition to the life-size cherry blossom sculpture, our neighborhood is fully decked out with cherry blossom decals to help celebrate the season and the joy that this beloved tradition brings to our city each year.

First, we got word on Tuesday, March 30 that a DUNS number and a SAM.gov registration is NOT needed for the applications for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund Grant. The Small Business Administration (SBA) confirmed this afternoon that applicants will not need to register for a DUNS number or on SAM.gov. This is a change from early March, when it was expected that applications might require this process as they currently do under other recent grant programs. The shift by SBA recognized the significant demand for the restaurant program and the voice of restaurant industry advocates who asked SBA to streamline and simplify the application process to avoid administrative complexity. We hope for as user-friendly and efficient an application process as possible for you. The SBA has indicated that more info on the Grant application will be shared in the next few days, and the application should open in 30-45 days. We will keep you updated real-time as we have more.
On Vaccines
, rollout and access remains a top priority for our industry, as you know, and momentum continues and has rapidly increased over the past few weeks. Nationwide, President Biden noted that states and jurisdictions are successfully propelling the rollout forward, and based on this pace, 90% of adults in the U.S. should be eligible for a vaccine by April 19th.
In DC vaccinations, appointment invitations continue to be released on Thursdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays at 10AM (tell employees to check their SPAM folders). Yesterday, additional essential workers in ride-share and delivery services became eligible, as well as those in the media. The District reported this week that since our industry has become eligible for appointments, more than 5,000 essential employees in foodservice have received the vaccine between restaurants, grocery stores, and food distribution companies. This number is one of the highest reported among sectors, so our industry in DC is leading in terms of vaccination numbers city wide. This is a great sign that you and your employees are working very hard to register and get appointments, and this data sends a signal to the City that our industry is serious about vaccinating all of its essential workforce as officials look at further reopening measures. , we know many of you are starting to hire up for the Spring and Summer seasons, which is a huge relief to many workers who still remain out of work as a result of this challenging time. We will soon be sharing with you some interactive ways in which you can advertise industry job postings and connect with individuals seeking employment. Additionally, as many in our industry remain unemployed or underemployed currently, we are seeking restaurants who would like to activate their kitchens to provide meals through Hook Hall Helps, which you are likely aware works in partnership with the RAMW Education Foundation, Educated Eats. Hook Hall Helps offers free packaged meals on Monday afternoons in DC at Hook Hall (3400 Georgia Ave NW, WDC) and in Northern VA on Thursday afternoons, now at a space in National Landing donated by our partners at JBG SMITH (2011 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA). Is your business a registered DC corporation or do you have a trade name registered in the District? If so, the upcoming April 1, 2021 filing deadline may apply to you. File the mandatory biennial report and trade name renewal by April 1 to prevent late fees and keep your corporate entity and/or trade name active and in good standing in the District of Columbia.
A report must be filed with the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) by April 1 the calendar year after registration and every two years thereafter. You can file your biennial report or renew your trade name at
