We will continue this section of the newsletter each week as long as we have content. Please send us anything you'd like us to mention.

1) Reminder about snow removal: Please shovel the snow on the sidewalk in front of your business within 24 hours of the snow ceasing to fall. The AMPBID clean team will continue to maintain the crosswalks, area around fire hydrants and other public spaces but each business owner needs to clear the sidewalk in front of their business. Thanks!

2) Spoon is now open! Previously Cali Yogurt at 2473 18th Street, NW is now Spoon. They sell yogurt by weight(self serve) with a toppings bar, ice cream, sandwiches, salads and desserts.  The sweet potato cafe was delicious!

Their hours are Monday-Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm and Friday/Saturday 11 am to 12 midnight, Sundays from 11 am to 9 pm.

For their first month in business they are offering all customers $1 off any frozen yogurt or ice cream through the end of January. In February if you upload photos you take of you and your friends inside Spoon or eating their poducts to their Facebook page, you will be eligible to enter a drawing for a FREE Ipad.


3) State of the Union at The Diner TOMORROW - January 28th

The Diner Celebrates the State of the Union Address on January 28, 2014 at 9 pm with a Viewing Party and Bingo! While many think that DC is only about politics, we insist that politics can be fun!

The Diner is featuring 50 cent buffalo chicken wings, $18 pitchers of beer, and great prizes for the lucky bingo winners. The specials will run from 8 pm to last call. Guests can find more information on the Facebook event page

Well, we definitely have romance covered here! Valentine's Day is coming soon....come join us in our romantic English basement for Valentine's Day weekend. Little Fountain Cafe offers a quiet, comfortable (did we forget to mention romantic?) place to celebrate with that special someone.  This year we will be offering a special 3-course prixfixe menu for both Friday, Feb 14th and Saturday, Feb 15th.  Reservations for both those days must be made by phone and require a credit card to reserve a space.  Please go to our website to see the menu.

Welcome to new intern Joshua Tuch!

Please help me welcome Josh Tuch (pronounced Tuck) who will be interning with us on Mondays and Wednesdays for a few months (We hope! He is looking for a full time job.)

He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2010 with a degree in economics, and recently completed a commitment with Teach for America, having taught at Cesar Chavez Prep in Columbia Heights for three years. He lives in Mt. Pleasant and is hoping to go back to school for a master's degree in Urban Planning and Business. He will be working with us in the mean time on a variety of projects to support the BID.

Ask Me About DC - February 19th

We are again participating in the annual "Ask Me About DC" event organized by Destination DC and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton on Capitol Hill.

The day provides Members of Congress and House and Senate staff an opportunity to learn about attractions, entertainment and dining options in Washington, DC to support the needs of their constituents. The majority of the attendees are staffers and interns. There are more than 800 people who attend this event. Many of them have just moved to DC. This is a terrific opportunity to get your marketing materials in the hands of brand new DC residents.

We collect items from ALL ADAMS MORGAN BUSINESSES to distribute in a bag to attendees.

SOOO here is what we need from you before February 12th:

* Menus

* Business cards

* Flyers

* Discount coupons

* Disposable bags - we need close to 800 of them

* Give away items with your logo/name on them that would catch their attention

* Anything else you would like us to give to folks....

GWHCC Annual Expo - March 19th

GWHCC (the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce) is now in the process of preparing for the Fifth Annual GWHCC Business Expo, which is two months away, and we would like to invite you to participate and help make this Expo bigger than ever!

This year, the Expo will bring together government agencies, corporations, embassies, non-profits, and small businesses for learning and networking with the local Hispanic business community. We are anticipating 130 exhibitors and over 1,500 attendees.

What to expect at the this year’s Expo:

The Adams Morgan Partnership BID sponsored two booths that were shared by 4 businesses at last year's EXPO and showcased their businesses and built connections.

Spaces are filling up fast so we would like to know by January 31st if you would like to participate again this year. We will pay for shared booths for 3 businesses per booth for up to 12 businesses or 4 booths.
