The next Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) Board of Directors' meeting will be Tuesday, September 8 from 5-7:00 PM. In addition to the regular board agenda, we will discuss deadlines related to reauthorization.
The meeting will take place online via Zoom. If you would like to attend the online meeting, you must register. Once you register, you will receive the login information.

Announcing FINAL ROUND LISC Small Business Relief Grant
|
LISC opened up its final grant round and they are now accepting applications through Monday, September 7. Please note that businesses that applied in a previous round are encouraged to apply AGAIN, especially if you haven't heard back from LISC.
LISC Small Business Relief Grant
LISC national office has opened up a FINAL ROUND of its small business grant funding, and is accepting applications through Monday, September 7. In the past rounds, 8-10 DC businesses have received grants and we expect that trend to continue in this next round.

Adams Morgan will be participating in the Art All Night 2020 Virtual Activation sponsored by DSLBD. Art All Night will be bringing together artists and local businesses to celebrate the robust and eclectic offerings of our great city through a virtual activation during the last two weeks of September, with online events during several hours on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as livestream opportunities during each week of the activation based on several themes.

ServSafe Dining Commitment

ServSafe Dining Commitment
, is a program aiming to reassure customers that the restaurants they love are open, trained in new sanitation and safety procedures, and committed to the health and enjoyment of their diners.

Virtual training on PPP loan forgiveness
|
On Thursday, September 3, 2020, at 11:30 am the
DC Chamber
will convene a virtual training on PPP loan forgiveness as part of their training and technical assistance initiative we launched in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development.
This event is free (offered in both English and Spanish). They have lined up speakers from U.S. SBA, CohnReznick, and local financial institutions who will discuss what a business needs to know and how to prepare to apply for the loan forgiveness process. Contact Linda Currie at

Adams Morgan Day Festival Announces Lineup of Streaming Music and a Virtual Dance Plaza
|
Business and restaurant specials are already being added;
Virtual Kids Zone
registration open; vendors and cultural history activities to be announced soon
The
Adams Morgan Day
Planning Committee released the live streaming music and virtual Dance Plaza lineup for the 42nd annual Adams Morgan Day festival to be held on Sunday September 13th, 2020. Business and restaurant specials are now being posted at
AdamsMorganDay.com
and most businesses will extend specials through the full week.

and your participation will be posted soon after, usually within a day.
The festival will continue as the longest running annual neighborhood celebration in Washington D.C., with some event alterations expected due to COVID-19. The program highlights the creativity, unity, and heart at the core of the Adams Morgan community. Virtual entertainment and activities for all ages will be live-streamed, and a handful of socially-distanced outdoor cultural history activities will take place around the community. Carryout and delivery specials from participating restaurants, bars and shops will be available on festival day and will continue throughout the week. Service onsite will follow current guidelines.
The Adams Morgan Day festival is an excellent opportunity for us to come together as a community -- even virtually -- after so much isolation and uncertainty to support all the great work, art, history, and businesses that are the core of our neighborhood. Music will live-stream from

to an online audience only. The program also includes a
Backstage Adams Morgan
music history panel and a "
Punk The Capital
" filmakers' conversation. The Dance Plaza originated in 2007 at Adams Morgan Day, and this year the virtual version will be hosted by

Volo City Kids
is hosting the Virtual Kids Zone. Many other partners will be filling out a full lineup of cultural history activities to be announced soon.

Get Out The Vote campaign looking for partner restaurants
|
The
Sunrise Movement
and partnering local organizations are organizing a Get Out The Vote campaign, with Adams Morgan being one of the target neighborhoods. Among other strategies, they are hoping to find partner restaurants to include door hanger flyers with takeout orders to help increase voter registration in the area.

From Nick Roland, RCNA President:
In this time of uncertainty, the Reed-Cooke Neighborhood Association (RCNA) has created the Emergency Relief Grant program to offer micro-grants to residents of Adams Morgan who have lost their jobs as a result of the Coronavirus Health Crisis and are unable to receive UI benefits.
RCNA is raising money for the Relief Fund and will match donations up to $10,000. All donations are tax-deductible through RCNA’s 501(c)(3) status, and 100% of funds will be distributed to those in need.
We've all been affected by this public health crisis in some way, and we know that many of you may also be hurting, financially and beyond. However, if you're in a position to do so, consider donating to this relief fund and showing the members of our community how much we all care about them.
Through the Relief Fund, RCNA has been able to help provide sixty families with $300 micro-grants so far.

Have You Spotted the New Safety Signage in Adams Morgan?
|
You may have noticed our meme-like safety signage that has been installed throughout the neighborhood! With signs featuring Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg (RBG), Alexander Hamilton, tons of cute puppies, and famous people named Ryan, it has certainly created a buzz both locally and nationally!
Big thanks to the
Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
for helping us to translate and purchase 30 new yard signs in Spanish to distribute around Adams Morgan!
Due to the large volume of requests, the Adams Morgan Partnership BID is excited to offer the public an opportunity to purchase our health and safety signs for personal use. The signs are exactly the same as the ones posted around Adams Morgan and are approximately 24 inches by 18 inches. The signs do NOT come with the metal stakes (those are available at many hardware and craft stores).
We expect orders to be ready within 1-3 weeks
-- we do not have an active inventory -- signs are printed after they are ordered. Signs are available for shipping or local pick up.
Please note that funds received above and beyond the cost of printing and shipping will be used to produce additional safety signage for our neighborhood in support of local businesses.
