The
Adams Morgan pit stop will be at Unity Park
again this year. Adams Morgan regularly has one of the highest registration rates in the city and we plan on having refreshments and other goodies available to riders in addition to the free t-shirt. We'll be joined by City Bikes who will have a repair clinic and we'll be raffling four bicycle helmets (one every 30 minutes) along with some Adams Morgan swag.

New for 2023: Spring PorchFest!
|
We're excited to announce the first-ever
Spring PorchFest
on
Saturday, May 20 from 2-6pm
! Over the last 10 years, we've received overwhelming community support for the October PorchFest, so we decided to add a second PorchFest to the neighborhood events lineup. With over 70+ bands, this Spring edition will showcase some of DC’s best local musical talent featuring nearly every musical genre, including classic rock, funk, go-go, rap, reggae, blue grass, classical, and pop. Seventeen+ porches, patios, and stoops will become stages for the day, drawing music-lovers from around the region into the tree-lined streets and small businesses of Adams Morgan.
Event patrons can pick up a music map and wristband at the event headquarters located in the plaza at the corner of Columbia and Adams Mill Roads NW. Event wristbands are FREE and provide attendees with dozens of discounts at various Adams Morgan businesses. After stopping by the event headquarters, guests can stroll through the neighborhood for nonstop musical performances from 2-6pm, enjoy lunch, dinner, or drinks at a neighborhood hangout, and shop for unique gifts at local boutiques.

, Adams Morgan Movie Nights is a can’t-miss event! Adams Morgan Movie Nights will kick off on Tuesday, May 23 and continue with weekly screenings on Tuesday nights through June 27. Movies are free and are shown on the soccer field at Marie Reed School. Movies start approximately 30 minutes after sunset, and we'll have treats from

again this year so be sure to show up early.

Adams Morgan Moratorium Hearing
|
The Alcoholic Beverage Cannabis Administration (ABCA) will hold a hearing at
10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023
, to receive public comment concerning the renewal of the Adams Morgan Moratorium Zone. The Board recently extended the moratorium on an emergency basis. It now seeks comment on a resolution adopted by Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 1C that, if approved by the Board, would increase the number of allowable tavern licenses to 25 to be phased in with no more than 4 new tavern licenses per year. The ANC Resolution is available on ABCA’s website www.abca.dc.gov.
The Board’s public hearing will be conducted via video conferencing through the Cisco Webex meetings (Webex) platform. Internet access is required. The hearing will also be streamed via YouTube.

by no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023. Please include your full name, title, organization and your phone number. Once you have submitted your contact information to ABRA, you will be provided information regarding how the Board intends to conduct the hearing, and what your participation in the hearing requires.
Members of the public who are unable to testify or who do not desire to testify in person may provide written comments which will be included as part of the Board’s official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to ABRA General Counsel Martha Jenkins no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023.

DC WIC Grant & $4K for business cohort participants
|
The DC Workforce Investment Council (WIC) is seeking feedback from small business owners about the challenges they face in hiring qualified employees. This data provided in this survey will support The WIC in developing resources to support businesses in hiring and retaining qualified staff.
Survey respondents will be entered into a drawing to receive a $500 small business grant.

DC OHR Anti-Sexual Harassment Training Class at RAMW
|
The
Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act (TWWF)
requires District employers who hire individuals earning tips as wages to complete an anti-sexual harassment training by a DC Office of Human Rights (OHR) certified trainer every two years. The implementation of Initiative 82
does not
affect this requirement.
The deadline to complete TWWF anti-sexual harassment training is August 31, 2023.
RAMW is happy to announce that we are able to offer several sessions at $35 per person. The in-person sessions are open to employees, managers, owners, and operators.
