Free Webinar:
Commercial Leasing During the Pandemic
|
During the COVID-19 global pandemic, businesses of all types are facing unprecedented challenges. Some businesses have been shuttered due to the District’s Stay-At-Home orders. Others have been operating with reduced capacity and with reduced hours but are considered essential.
While some landlords are receiving mortgage forbearance from their respective banking institutions, they may or may not pass along similar relief to their commercial tenants. Businesses have to consider what options they have as we continue to operate on shaky ground. Tune in to the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center's webinar with Ross Coe from Blank Rome LLP to learn how your business may be able to approach some of your COVID-19 related leasing concerns.
April 30, 2020; 12:00 p.m - 1:00 p.m.

DC Chamber of Commerce’s Employer Advocacy Program
|
Please join the
DC Chamber of Commerce’s Employer Advocacy Program on Thursday, April 30, 2020
, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM for our quarterly Employment Law Seminar on Unemployment Updates and Issues from The Federal C.A.R.E.S. Act, The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, The DC COVID-19 Response Supplemental Emergency Amendment Act and the DC Declaration of Emergency Leave Requirement.
As the Coronavirus public health crisis continues to impact individuals and economies across the globe, there are evolving workforce management questions and changes to navigate at both the local and federal levels. With the recent federal unemployment expansion in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the employer mandates that fall under the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) employers must be equipped with information not only for compliance but to ensure your workplace policies and procedures are keeping up with the changing employment law landscape. It is important that employers understand the Unemployment Compensation Program and Claims Process During COVID-19 and the legislative changes made to employment protections and emergency leave to address employees impacted by the Coronavirus.
To help employers understand these modifications and expansions and how it will impact workers and businesses we ask you to join us on April 30th
.
This event is free and open to all local businesses. It will take place virtually via video conference. All participants are asked to register in advance by April 29, 2020 at

Is your business offering Mother's Day specials?
|
Mother's Day is on Sunday, May 10 this year and it looks like we're still going to be under lockdown, so this is your opportunity to get the word out about specials you may be planning.
Please let us know if your business is planning on something special for the moms out there -- perhaps a takeout or delivery brunch, a Mother's Day sale, or maybe a special digital gift card to minimize contact with other people -- and we'll help promote it over the next two weeks.
Please send your Mother's Day specials to
