2) No Kings Collective hosts a new project: Hierarchy - starts February 8th

The DC-based artist collective and Napoleon Bistro partner to launch Hierarchy, an experimental arts venue in Adams Morgan

WHAT :      No Kings Collective, the Washington, DC based artist group, announces the opening of Hierarchy, a new special exhibition venue located in Adams Morgan. Designed as an ever-evolving, chameleon exhibition space, Hierarchy opens Saturday, February 8th, 2014.

Located at 1841 Columbia Road, Hierarchy will launch with a dual exhibition from lauded DC artists Cory Oberndorfer and DECOY running through Monday, March 3rd. Hierarchy will feature monthly artist exhibitions and weekly cultural programming. Hierarchy opens in partnership with the Popal family, owners of Napoleon Bistro, Cafe Bonaparte and Malmaison.

On February 8th, Cory Oberndorfer, the pop art muralist and large-scale painter, launches Pop: Sucker , a fleet of colorful pieces inspired by pop culture and Americana, presenting objects oozing of innocence in an age of maturity. DECOY’s North West is a compilation of paintings and stories inspired by the artist’s life as an artist and art educator in Washington, DC. With origins in street art, DECOY’s work focuses on the intersection of figures with color and space. North West and Pop: Sucker will be on view through Monday, March 3rd.

Hierarchy will host gallery hours open to the public Saturdays and Sundays noon to 5pm.

T he next Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) Board of Directors' meeting will be Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 at 5 PM at Maga Design Studios at 1838 Columbia Road, NW.

Joining us this month will be Christina Stockamore who is the Senior Small Business Lending Officer at the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) located at 2316 18th Street, NW. Ms. Stockamore will tell us about small business loans and what LEDC can do you help your small business.

As a reminder, our Clean Team will collect discarded holiday trees on Mondays for a few more weeks from the commercial corridor and limited side streets in Adams Morgan.

If you would like us to collect your tree, please put it in the tree box on Sunday evenings. Thanks.

DDOT hosts semi-annual Circulator Bus open house - February 25th

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is holding its Semi-Annual Circulator Forum.  At the forum, DDOT will solicit feedback from passengers on the strengths and weaknesses of the bus system to ensure the DC Circulator continues to meet the needs of current and future riders.

The Circulator's route performance, future route extensions (including the planned National Mall route), a potential fare increase, and current operations are among the various items that will be presented and discussed at this forum. The 2014 DC Circulator Development Plan Update, currently underway, will also be brought up at the meeting.

Cheap, available, day-time parking in Adams Morgan, 7 days a week!

Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus…

In March 2010, we announced a new partnership with Colonial Parking that brought reduced price, validated garage parking for day-time customers in Adams Morgan. This program is still in effect today! We thought it might be time for a reminder.

Please tell your customers and make sure to get the validation cards from Yusef Sultan ysultan@ecolonial.co m at the garage 202-557-1411. The validation cards are FREE for every business in Adams Morgan.

Park in the Colonial Parking garage (access is from 18th Street, NW on the east side just north of Belmont Road, NW) for up to 4 hours for only $7.00.

With a FREE validation card from any business in Adams Morgan - no purchase necessary - customers can park for up to 4 hours for only $7.00.

Business owners will give customers validation cards and they return to the garage and insert the validation card and pay only $7.00 for up to 4 hours! The parking meters charge $2/hour! Parking in the garage is cheaper and easier!

This deal is available until 5 PM, every day of the week. Vehicles must be out of the garage by 5 PM when regular rates will apply. Also the validation is only good for UP to 4 hours, any fraction thereafter, whether before 5pm or not, will incur the maximum fee.

The previous discounted parking of 1-2 hours for $3.00 is also still available with validation, 7 days a week.
