, Adams Morgan Movie Nights is a can’t-miss event! Adams Morgan Movie Nights will continue through June 27. Movies are free and are shown on the soccer field at Marie Reed School. Movies start approximately 30 minutes after sunset, and we'll have treats from
Insomnia Cookies
again this year so be sure to show up early.

Keeping Adams Morgan clean 365 days a year
|
The Adams Morgan Clean Team, which started in 2006, is vital to the upkeep of the neighborhood. The Clean Team is not just responsible for collecting waste in the area, but also maintaining the neighborhood by getting rid of unwanted posters and graffiti. Additionally, our team waters plants and landscapes the area to help keep Adams Morgan green and inviting.
This year, the Clean Team removed over 21,000 trash bags from the neighborhood as well as over 125,000 lbs of recycling. They also removed or painted over 862 posters and graffiti markings and performed 57 bulk trash removals.
These teams are funded by the Department of Small and Local Business Development to help keep neighborhoods safe and healthy. Adams Morgan neighborhood would not be the same without the Clean Team providing these vital services.

, is thrilled to announce Northwest DC’s inaugural Plant Swap event on
June 17
.
From 11am to 4pm
, plant enthusiasts and green thumbs alike are invited to the plaza on the corner of 18th & Columbia Rd NW to bring their plants, cuttings, and seeds to swap with fellow plant lovers. Local artisans will be on-site to showcase a variety of products such as kitchen textiles and apothecary goods. The day promises to be filled with frosty fun, too, as attendees will also enjoy refreshing snow cones and Topo Chico beverages to beat the DC summer heat!
Gifted Curators, together with participating vendors, will be distributing vouchers to encourage attendees to visit their nearby street art-inspired community gallery and retail shop. They’ll also provide valuable information on i71 compliance, as well as insights on at-home plant care and cultivation.

Adams Morgan Moratorium Hearing
|
The Alcoholic Beverage Cannabis Administration (ABCA) will hold a hearing at
10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023
, to receive public comment concerning the renewal of the Adams Morgan Moratorium Zone. The Board recently extended the moratorium on an emergency basis. It now seeks comment on a resolution adopted by Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 1C that, if approved by the Board, would increase the number of allowable tavern licenses to 25 to be phased in with no more than 4 new tavern licenses per year. The ANC Resolution is available on ABCA’s website www.abca.dc.gov.

Juneteenth Office Closure, Extended Hours
|
ABCA’s office will be closed on Monday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20.
Extended Holiday Hours
For Juneteenth, alcohol establishments enrolled in the Extended Holiday Hours Program may sell, serve, and allow on-premises consumption of alcohol until 4:00 a.m. and operate 24-hours starting the evening of Sunday, June 18 and ending at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19. Licensees may confirm their enrollment by locating their establishment’s name on the 2023 Juneteenth roster. If you believe your establishment was omitted by error, email ABCA.AlcoholLicensing@dc.gov.

There is no fee to register in the Extended Holiday Hours Program. Registrations are accepted on a rolling basis, and once approved, venues are eligible to participate in all following permitted holidays. Board Orders and Settlement Agreements apply to enrolled and prospective registrants. Registrations must be received 30-days before the first holiday a licensee would like to extend their hours.

Friday, September 1 - Monday, September 4

Next Anti-Harassment Training Tuesday
Register today
for our next DC anti-sexual harassment training for restaurant and bar employees, owners, operators, and managers. Registration is $35 per person and space is limited.

: Training must be completed by August 31.

: As part of the 2018 Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act, operators with tipped employees must complete the training every two years. Trainers must be certified by the DC Office of Human Rights.

DC Freight Plan Update Public Input Survey
DDOT's New Freight Plan: A freight plan is a federally required document that defines short-and long-term vision and goals along with objectives and performance measures for the District freight system. Since the enactment of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) in 2021, states are required to update their freight plans every four (4) years.
The Freight Plan Update will develop recommendations and strategies to support the safe and efficient movement of goods and freight vehicles in the District. The recommendations from the plan will allow DDOT to make strategic investments to the District freight system.

The Commercial Property Acquisition Fund will provide eligible businesses with down payment assistance of up to $750,000 or 25% of the sale price, whichever is less, for the acquisition of commercial property in the District. This year, businesses will need to complete three mandatory sessions in order to apply for the Fund. OPEN now on a rolling basis until funds are expended.
