The Mayor's office contacted us and the ribbon cutting will be Friday July 27th at 10 AM. All other details remain the same.

We have confirmed that the ribbon cutting/press event with Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham and Mayor Vincent Gray to celebrate the conclusion of the 18th Street Streetscape construction will be Friday July 27th at 10 am.

The ribbon cutting/remarks will be on the edge of SunTrust plaza on the sidewalk closest to 18th Street. We hope you can join us!

We are planning additional activities to create a festive environment (strolling musicians and the like) later that evening beginning around 6 pm and ending around 9 pm on the neighborhood sidewalks. We want this to be a neighborhood event that encourages people to "ReDiscover Adams Morgan."

If you have suggestions for artists that could perform on short notice such as acoustic guitar players or a mime or juggler, please email them to Kristen at kbarden@adamsmorganonline.org or call 202-997-0783.

Please send out a notice of this to your email lists and tweeter followers and include a note on your Facebook page so we can build a crowd. If you will be planning to stay open later hours or will have a special sale or will be doing anything to help build a crowd please let Kristen know so she can include in a comprehensive list of what do do/where to go that day/evening.

Also if you are open for lunch on FRIDAY please email Kristen so she can put together a list of places available for people to have lunch after the ribbon cutting.
