AMPBID Board Meeting Tuesday

The next Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) Board of Directors' meeting will be Tuesday, November 13 at 5-7:00 PM at the Festival Center at 1640 Columbia Rd NW. Hope you can join us!

Board members should call or email Kristen at 202-997-0783 or kbarden@adamsmorganonline.org if you are unable to attend, otherwise we will assume you are attending. The meeting agenda will be sent out to board members before the meeting.

At the beginning the board meeting, there will be a presentation by the consultants hired as part of our Adams Morgan Gateway and Beautification Project. The presentation is the culmination of over a year of meetings, discussion, and site visits conducted by the AMPBID and the advisory committee of neighborhood representatives.

Apple Festival Winners

Gorgeous blue skies prevailed last Saturday as 16 pies were judged at the 4th Annual Adams Morgan Apple Festival and Pie Baking Contest. Congratulations to Tryst , which won the Best Overall award, and to Chad Shryock for winning the award for Appearance, Juliette Dauz for Best Crust, and Becca Rea-Holloway for Best Filling. Special thanks to Licking Creek Bend Farm and all the contestants who donated their time, elbow grease and recipes for this event! The event also raised $1,813 for Higher Achievement whose mission is to build a world where every child’s promise and potential is realized, regardless of circumstances.

Le Bustiere Celebrates Five Years Today

Celebrate the 5th anniversary of local luxury lingerie boutique Le Bustiere with an evening full of prizes and surprises. Expect boudoir photo shoots, a raffle giveaway, standup comedy and more. Thursday, Nov. 8, 6-8:30 pm at 1744 Columbia Road NW, #2. FREE tickets here .

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday returns November 24, and the Adams Morgan Partnership will be promoting the specials of restaurants and shops throughout the neighborhood. Council Chair Phil Mendelson will visit the neighborhood that morning to highlight local and independent businesses. Send details of any sales, specials, or giveaways you will be offering that day to Brian Barrie at by THURSDAY, Nov. 15 to be included in media outreach.

Movie Screening at The Line Hotel

WHUT/ITVS Indie Lens Pop-Up invites all our music-loving neighbors to The LINE Hotel in Adams Morgan for a preview screening of RUMBLE: The Indians Who Rocked the World , a film that explores the profound and missing chapter in the history of American music: the Indigenous influence. The film will broadcast in January as part of the PBS series “Independent Lens.” This screening will be Thursday, November 29, 7-9 PM at The LINE Hotel, 1770 Euclid Street, NW. First Annual Adams Morgan Holiday Market

Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 - 9; 12-5 pm in SunTrust Plaza, BB&T Bank Plaza, and Unity Park. Hosted by the same volunteer crew that brings you Adams Morgan Day. This event will feature more than 50 local, high-quality arts and crafts vendors from across DC with diverse gift items, such as jewelry, pottery, paintings and textiles. Showcase Your Restaurant at Rock Creek Conservancy Gala

Join Rock Creek Conservancy for their annual Rock Creek Gala at the Embassy of New Zealand on December 8, 2018. Guests will enjoy a tasting menu from local restaurants and distilleries, live music, and a fun silent auction. Purchase tickets and sponsorships here or contact Allie Russo at arusso@rockcreekconservancy.org to join other local eateries in providing small bites for guests. All of the gala's food is provided by local restaurants, who have the chance to showcase their talents and offerings to 300+ local supporters. Food can be served at a station by your team or picked up by RCC staff and shared on a harvest table at the gala. Support Your Bus Line: Take Metro’s Survey

Metro is encouraging customers to participate in the 2018 Bus Passenger Survey to determine funding allocations, support planning efforts, and collect data. Over the next several months, surveys will be distributed aboard buses by trained research contractors. Please complete the survey each time you receive one. Customers can remain anonymous or provide their information for a chance to win a $100 SmarTrip card.
